Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
Over the past two days I have written twice to Lord Michael Howard, the former Tory leader and now NED at Quindell pushing him to investigate the biggest (relative to reported profits) fraud in Quindell History, the 2011 TMC Southern panama pump. And today the good Lord has replied – the board is on the case! Hooray. The latest exchange of emails between myself and Lord Howard, a politician showing real integrity is below:

Bravo! The good Lord needs to brush up on his governance: if the Board is aware of these issues then it surely must notify the stock market immediately that they are being investigated. The regulations are there to protect shareholders and potential shareholders.

Lord Howard wrote:
“The Board is aware of the matters to which you refer and will, in due course, make any relevant statement.”
This does not imply that they will investigate but instead simply states that in due course it will make any relevant statement.

It it is aware & does not investigate then the new board is on the hook as others are investigating. The new board right now is not on the hook. It has no choice but to investigate. The “others” are now aware – as of 10 mins ago – that the BOD is aware

Well done Tom. Without your unstinting efforts Terry & Co would have got away with it, again. I wonder how long it will be before “urgent business” takes him to some non-extradition location?

I’ve interviewed Michael Howard a few times and found him rather prickly. However, he does ripple with raw energy and enjoys being in the public eye. He is not going sit back and do nothing after Tom’s letters. Not nohow!.

Careful, though – there’s something of the night about him…

Well done Tom. Hope the fraudster RT gets a long stretch. All those threats you had made. Bunch of cowboys

Tom I thought that you was taking some time off.

Don’t forget Slater and Gordon’s share price (a) before they bought Quindell’s PI business and (b) today. The wise words you said to me at last year’s UKIC “the fraud has moved on to S&G” have borne fruit.
