After just 10 days my PC has developed a fault. I blame that wanker Bill Gates as it was all to do with reconfiguring windows after installing updates. I loathe you Bill Gates. And so I ignored thunder clouds looming in the Taegessus mountains behind the Greek hovel and set off on my motorbike to Kalamata.

After suffering similar problems for years with that laughable excuse for software that is “windows” and its side kick office Word , I have found a solution .I tried many house keeping programs like Mc Affee and Norton and numerous others which all worked very well at catching virus and the like but failed dismally at protecting the Bios , Boot logs and the all important System Registry . Finally when speaking to a techy at Dell he said they all use “system mechanic professional “ by iolo .com . As well as all the usual that the others do it checks the Boot logs and registry every day and corrects any errors introduced by restarts , ms/updates , soft ware crashes etc before they get compounded day after day and the registry eventually ties itself in knots resulting in death. Never had a windows crash since ………….. you could always get an Apple I suppose. Rest of my family all have Apple and they never ever crash or go wrong ……… quite remarkable . Being thrifty and and a luddite I could never bring myself to buy a Mac book pro on grounds of cost .

Please may the Bearcast include comment on Action Hotels. Seemingly good results but cash burn and appointment of new nomad and broker prompt me to fear a placing may be on the way. An updated view on this share tip would be appreciated.

Mmmm… I used to own an apple powerbook laptop.True,I didn’t have problems with crashes, but eventually the drive broke down and it wasn’t worth fixing..My advice is to get something with plenty of basic memory,,and avoid hyperdrives or superdrives designed to boost speed.

You’re not alone – and wasn’t the whole Windows thing plagiarised from IBM anyway?
