Rossyln Data (RDT) was a Cenkos Securities special as an IPO. Neglecting to mention that the key men in sales and product development had jumped ship months before the IPO to start up a competitor was, with a massive error and Cenkos should have been panned by the regulators. It was not and it does not care! A decade after the IPO investors have lost 99.2% (adjusting for a fifty for one consolidation) but Cenkos, now Cavendish, is still there banking its Nomad retainer and commission on numerous bailout placings, so bringing in stacks of coke and hookers money. Today there is yet another warning.
On 29th April 2014 Rosslyn Data (RDT) raised £10 million at 33p as it joined the AIM sewer. As I demonstrated on this website, the prospectus prepared by Cenkos Securities (CNKS) was grossly misleading and it has been downhill ever since. Cenkos is still there as Nomad and broker after numerous (lack of) profits warnings, a CEO who forgot about his involvement in the porn industry, numerous bailout placings and other fun and games. I wonder how much coke & hookers money Cenkos has made over the years. The shares are now 0.725p after another awful trading statement today.
Describing itself as a “provider of a leading cloud-based enterprise data analytics platform”, Rosslyn Data Technologies (RDT) has announced results for its half-year ended 31st October 2022 including “expected revenue growth of 121% in H2 over H1… there is growing interest in Rosslyn's services from global blue-chip customers and via its partner network, which is resulting in an expanding pipeline”. So what of a currently approaching 12% lower share price response to 0.75p?
Rosslyn Data Technologies (RDT) has announced a contract which CEO Paul Watts argues “highlights the value of our partnership with Chain IQ and endorses our strategic decision to focus on a partner-led go-to-market approach”. With the shares currently up approaching 10% to 2.3p in response, a £7.8 million market cap, what’s the detail?
How I miss those days when the then boss of Rossyln Data (RDT) could not remember whether or not he was a former pornographer. His replacement, Paul Watts, might not be so colourful, but, like the ex-pornographer he still has the unpleasant task of trying to polish up regular turds of profits warnings.
For the Rosslyn Data Technologies (RDT)/porno man reference see HERE. Meanwhile, a “Directorate Change” announcement from the company today states that this “leading global big data technology company, today announces that Roger Bullen, CEO, is stepping down” but that “he leaves the group in a good position for the next stage of sales-led growth under Paul Watts”. Hmmm...
Although still down from above 7p as recently as November, shares in Rosslyn Data Technologies (RDT) are currently up approaching 25%, towards 6p, on the back of a “Half-year Report” and “Contract Win”…
“Rosslyn Data Technologies plc (AIM: RDT), a leading global big data technology company, announces that it has won two large contracts”. Sounds interesting if these contracts are “large” for a “leading global” big data company…
“Rosslyn Data Technologies plc (AIM: RDT), a leading global big data technology company, is pleased to issue the following trading statement in advance of its results announcement for the year ended 30 April 2019, which is scheduled to be released in September”…
Oh for the days when Rosslyn Data was run by that colourful chap who seemed embarrassed about his career in pornography. These days a boring bean counter is at the helm but the company is still a dog serving up a double profits warning topped with a meagre dose of jam tomorrow today. The balance sheet is a total wreck and surely another bailout placing is needed.
Roger Lawson of ShareSoc bought a few shares in Rosslyn Data (RDT) as a recovery punt in a placing. That he was able to get EIS relief added to the attraction although I still worry he will lose money on this company which I have highlighted many times (HERE) as a howling dog even by the standards of AIM. Lawson attended the AGM yesterday and reports back on what appears to have been a curate's egg in his mind. I think he is being well generous.
It's congratulations to a longtime poster, first-time winner whose contributions have been almost exclusively on ShareProphets.
The old-bailout-disguised-as-acquisition switcheroo demonstates that Rosslyn Data (RDT) has what it takes to be a Bulletin Board Moron of the Week sponsor.
