And it runs an outfit called BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust (BRGE), which I’m rather fond of. I’ve invested in it for decades and my money has increased about ten times. As well as it paying a dividend, of course.

Hello, Share Stashers. On the whole, this old punter prefers to make his own choices on the stock market. But occasionally I rate the chances of a share trust. My favourite is Blackrock Greater Europe Investment Trust (BRGE) and it has just released a heartening full year report (to August 31st). Net assets now stand at £651 million compared to £387 million last time. The net asset value (NAV) per share was 678.5p compared to 460p previously.
By now, BlackRock is possibly the biggest asset manager in the world. And though size is no guarantee of success, a large presence makes it more difficult to fail. BlackRock does a lot of different funds. But my favourite, and one I’ve commended to you before, is the BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust (BRGE). Of late, it seems to rise fairly consistently and my tiny original holding is now getting on the hefty side.
