Alba Mineral Resources – Horse Hill update boosts shares, more to come?

Alba Mineral Resources (ALBA) has reported a Horse Hill test oil production update and that “Portland test production is now planned to continue until the second half of June when final site preparations for simultaneous HH-2/2z Portland drilling and HH-1 Kimmeridge production operations will commence”…

Alba Mineral Resources – Horse Hill update not promising for UK Oil & Gas BUT…

Alba Mineral Resources (ALBA) has updated that, “based on the continued Kimmeridge extended well test success and last October's announcement of Portland commercial viability, the company has been informed that the operator's plans are to continue HH-1 extended well test production until the expiry of the current permits in spring 2019 and then, subject to receipt of all necessary approvals, to move directly into the drilling and long-term testing of two new wells, HH-2 and HH-1z”…

Alba Minerals – Bluejay Conundrum 3 – Jorc light about to be shone on material disjoint in value

There is one aspect of the latest commentary from Align Research regarding Alba (ALBA) and BlueJay (JAY) with which I disagree strongly. Align argues that Alba must be cheap becuase it has similar assets to Bluejay and the Horse Hill stocks yet trades on a fraction of the ratings of Bluejay and the HH stocks. Surely it could just be that "the field" are grossly overvalued? Of Course I have very real issues with Bluejay and its shamed Nomad and broker SP Angel of MySquar infamy. But over to Align which opines:

I would add: 1. I don't advocate going "all-in"; at its peak my short in IES would have had a position size of about 7% of my total portfolio. "Position size" is the total value of the short position (ie number of shares x price) divided by the net value of my portfolio (how much it would be worth if everything was sold). Because I'm using gearing (mainly spread bets) this means that all of the position sizes added together is greater than 100%.Under normal circumstances I wouldn't go over 6% for a position size because I like to think that I'm practicing some sort of risk control, even though many people out there think that I'm being recklessly risky just by shorting to begin with! Everyone that I know who spread bets says the same thing: you manage your risk by controlling your position size, and I broadly agree with that. Invinity went over 6% because the price moved against me at one point but these things happen.2. Everyone needs to learn position sizing for themselves because it ties in with your tolerance for risk. There's no point religiously copying someone else's position sizing if you 💩 your pants when the price swings more than 10% against you and the person that you're copying simply laughs at 50% swings and doubles their position! The key thing is that you have to be able to sleep at night!3. Whilst Nigel Farage brought "PFL" into the lexicon of the whole of the UK it's a well known term throughout the City and comes with one simple rule: you do not go back to the office after a PFL!Evil Bansta

The very idea i would be "naked" at Sharestock 2027 is a non-starter - you don't have enough sick buckets...As for riding a donkey - i tried a horse many years back - just the once (despite the then Mrs having loads of them in the fields my hard work had bought). No gears and the brakes were shocking...Meanwhile I do have to wonder if the Visionary Lord Sir Evil Bankster's articulated and evidenced comments at prior sharestocks about share price rise just prior to placing is now in play? red flag? we will see!

If the asset is good, you don't need death spiral funding. Obviously there is gold there but it remains to be seen whether it can be mined profitably and over time. Angel gave Nalunaq a life of 5 years max but they went under after two. Meanwhile, there's no Greenland gold rush. Maybe Amaroq can make it work in that extreme and inaccessible place but others before them, with much more gold mining experience, thought the same thing.
