Buy HR Owen at 140.5p

Motor dealer HR Owen (HRO) is an arb trade. On 18^th July the company rejected an offer from Berjaya Philippines at 130p a share saying that it was not good enough. It is not.

But the bid places HR Owen in play or at the very least will see brokers revalue it or get a higher bid from the same predator or another. Either way all things point north.

It’s with some fear I write a tip as a request from Tom W, because the last time I did it was on Channel 4’s Show Me the Money and I was ranked at the end of that series the top picker among 45 based on performance. So that’s going to be a hard act to follow.

Dumbest Labour MP, now that would be a crowded field. I think most of us have come to a realisation by now. . Most MP’S, of every party, don’t give a flying wotsit about the private sector.Until election time, when they come out with the usual platitudes. And some vague promises about cutting red tape, etc. Which they never follow through on. Parasites the lot of them.

It does look bad for Farage he seems unaware of the self harm he is inflicting, I am floating between Reform and Conservative and undecided depending on what the day brings. I would like to see Badendoch as prime minister of a coalition with Reform, she is good at dishing it out to the incumbent labour and she puts in proper hours in the HOC but Nigels ego will never agree and to it and he does not put in the hours so I am stuck in limbo.

The only real issue here is at what price will DBay take this private?In only one case where DBay has TR1d did it not proceed (Mission). All others it has succeeded (eventually, Alliance Pharma, Telit, Premier Foods, Anexo -ugh - among others) or been overbid (that care homes outfit).A LBO valuation here seems to be around 450p.DBAy is hiding behind an unusual nominee, Forrest Nominees, with 10%. I’d expect them to buy towards 25% on weakness and then make successive non-binding offers until there’s a recommendation.Hopefully these guys will be robust in rejecting inadequate offers.
