I warned you on Friday's bearcast that MX Oil (MXO) was trying to get a placing away at 0.75p and hey presto today we are told that it has indeed raised £2.5 million at 0.75p. The shares are down by 26% on the news at 0.8-0.85p: you dont need to thank me all at once for giving you a heads up. What is going on?

If the whole thing was as binding as it being claimed, then a bridging loan would have been easy enough to obtain. There would be no need for this desperate placing. I suspect that things are not quite as binding as has been made out.
If $18m is going to come in, in stages, you do not give nearly half the company away for £2.5m. Even a Wonga.com loan would have been better value for shareholders, if it really is just a matter of a few days.

Tom,
I am getting increasingly frustrated by links that do not work.
Take this one, for example. When I click from the Shareprophets newsletter I get ‘page not found’ So. I followed another link to your page and then a link from there back to shareprophets, and it works!
Is this a problem with Chrome, maybe? Can anyone confirm?
This happens with almost half the links in the newsletter – frustrating!

Tom Winnifrith trying to take the credit for the MX Oil disaster placing. Now don’t get me wrong TomArse I admire some of your work. But credit where credit’s due.
In fact it was Daniel Levi who tweeted and wrote an article exposing the whole fraud. Hats off to Dan. I do like his reference to #NigerianJoe coughing up $18,000,000 It’s my understanding that in Nigerian frauds cash goes the other way. Hence Stefen Oliver sending out the 419 placing letters. MXO are a terrible company. Not so long ago we had the twitter buffoon Whitlow a.k.a Dick Holiday ramping them when they were 4.5p. Now we know why Andy Frangos resigned. He knew it was fraudulent.

I flagged up a 0.75p placing and that is all I flagged up.
I am not seeking to claim credit for revealing a fraud because at this point no fraud has been revealed or proven.
Should it be the case that there is no fraud then Mr Levi and those who repeat his assertions are guilty of libel. If there is a fraud those folks at MX are heading for the slammer. We shall; see.
Right now I run what I can prove as a responsible journalist should and I take credit for that.

I have been working for 25 years and 6 months. For two years more than a decade and a half ago while working for AFX ( a jv between Agence France and the FT) I also co-presented daytime TV programme of the year SMTM. Not sure that makes me a gameshow host by profession.
BMD right? That has not been proved.He may be right , he may have libelled MX. I have not seen proof and I suspect neither have you. we shall see soon one way or another wont we?

Colins2, the newsletter doesn’t have broken links. Something sounds wrong with your computer, you should get it checked for viruses.
