Smaller mining companies aren’t exactly in favour at the moment, but I think that Wolf Minerals (WLFE) is well worth a look.

Hi GAry , the mine is near Plymouth, not Portsmouth actually, but you are correct in your assessment. Fully funded and shorlty going into production in a Globally declared rare metal (Tungsten) this has received little attention from the BB punters, probably because it is too sensible and the correct facts are all presented before investors ! Wolf have offtake agreements with the German machine tool industry in place and the Management team are a bunch of hardened Aussie mine operators with experience on major global projects. It is also the 1st mine in the UK to get a licence to operate for 45 years – so a rare beast and one worth following. At under 20p the shares are a steal.

Martin,
Apologies, meant Plymouth, my mistake – obviously not too much tin mining around Portsmouth!
As you say, am amazed that it hasn’t had more attention given the potential and the stage it is at – especially if you look at all the fuss over Horse Hill in the national media.
I’m not in myself (that may change in the future but preferred to cover it prior to buying any myself so as not to be any perceived conflict of interest – wanted people to focus on the fundamentals rather than thinking i was pushing it because i was holding!) but have been following it for a while.

Good article Gary. As I mentioned, I prefer PREM for a shorter term Tungsten play, but will certainly be keeping a close eye on WLFE.
