Cientifica (CTFA) was today formally booted off the AIM Casino after six months of suspension but shareholders will be asking where did all the money go and why is the board not pursuing this matter?

CTFA never managed to raise any real money. Had they then it would have been spirited away. The whole concept was just an attempt to cash in on the hype around graphene. A small amount was raised when the company first became a shell – most of that would have gone on fees and creating a flashy looking website for CTFA. They tried to do a placing which was not getting many takers so Tim Baldwin e-mailed all his mates (who were not made insiders first) with the placing presentation. That e-mail was forwarded to me from about 3 different sources and I pointed out to the Nomad (Allenby) and the Broker (Peterhouse) that this had happened and the placing was pulled and the presentation put on the company website to level the playing field – well done the Nomad.
The only “investment” it did make was a paper swap with Tim Harper for some shares he had in what looked like nothing more than a boiler room scam that had a flashy website which clearly overstated where the company was, if it was anywhere at all. This was clearly an attempt to claim they had met their investing policy. I pointed that out to AIM regulation who clearly agreed with me that it had not and they then never had the money to meet the policy. Well done AIM Regulation for once
Tim Godwin is a mate of Tim Baldwin’s from RAM days having flogged some worthless POS into RAM. The other connection is Bruce Gordon from Thames Valley Capital who has perennially backed Tim Baldwin ventures. It was Bruce who pulled the plug on Hill Street Investments and still has not got his money back as the investments in there are so worthless. He did not learn his lesson from that and went and backed CTFA – I suspect he is still hoping to pump some more money in in an attempt to get back what he lost in Nick Leeson style.
Tim Baldwin is running out of cronies prepared to back him; even Bruce may have learned his lesson now. However no doubt Tim will try again with some other scheme to fund his lifestyle from shareholders money, unless the regulators finally decide enough is enough and declare him not a fit and proper person.

‘Ello sailor – cracking post. Most impressive you received meaningful feedback from the reg. agencies. Wonder how Allenby feel about Camkids?!

JPS,
To be clear I got no feedback from them at all. However after I exposed the Placing presentation scam an RNS was put out and the presentation was put on the website as I suggested they do before I published it elsewhere. Funnily enough I got my first lawyers letter from TXO (Tim Baldwin’s 2015 AIM train wreck which by virtue of not appointing a new Nomad was booted off AIM ahead of CTFA) shortly after that event, thanks to all the good work I had done over 2 years by that point exposing how Tim Baldwin was scamming investors there (Among other things he had played exactly the same placing presentation out to all his mates trick there, but it did not get through to me for too long after the event to do anything more than for me to publish it and then point out all the lies in it).
With regard to CTFA’s only POS investment not meeting the investment policy, again I got no feedback, but the reason why the shares were suspended was because the company had not met the investing policy. AIM regulation may have come to that conclusion entirely without my help, I do not know. All I do know is Tim Baldwin is no longer a director of any AIM listed company and I hope it will remain that way, but I know he will be seeking a way back as the pickings are very slim on his scams without the easy access to a whole load of naïve investors / BBMs that an AIM listing gives him.
