I recently had a rant about AIM fraud Naibu (NBU), pointing out the profoundly depressing fact that it is only when the monthly retainers paid by the fraudsters to the UK non-executives,(in this case Giles Elliott and David Thomas: remember the names) dry up as the last of the money is stolen, that any action is taken: in this case the suspension of the shares and an admission that the CEO has disappeared (apparently he is in prison)

A small word of caution here. When Gate came to market,it was actually pretty illiquid,as most of the shares were in private hands. That is what made it possible to propel them much higher..I’m sure Lucian and the other bears are right that they will eventually go much lower, but there could be wild swings in between and the occasional vicious bear squeeze.

Hope you have only just opened a short – the share price story so far is 15p to 150p…

I’m not even sure what on earth the Powers That Be think is to be gained by having companies which are totally beyond the reach of British justice registering on a London market in the first place. There’s all to lose and, in my view, precious little to gain.
The people who are going to invest are, on the whole, British investors; so it follows that they are the ones taking the risk. Reaping any potential reward, OK, but still taking the risk.. If the company goes belly up then that’s British money flown the country and with precious little chance of any recovery. And it IS a high likelihood.
By now it must be as plain as a wart on a model’s nose that there’s only the lightest touch of regulation on the AIMS market and that that is the attraction for so many iffy foreign outfits.
Back to my question then_What the hell does the COUNTRY get out of dodgy traders dealing on AIMS? Surely it must be time to pull the rug on this.
