Blowing almost £800,000 a year for the sake of just £13,271.24 - the sorry tale of Neil Murphy

By Tom Winnifrith | Friday 23 February 2024

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

Neil Murphy was sacked as CEO of Bytes Technology (BYIT) earlier this week after the company discovered that he had traded repeatedly in the shares without declaring it. My reputation may be that of being a complete bastard when it comes to corporate malfeasance but, though Murphy was rightly sacked and I hope without any compensation, as details emerge of his trades, I almost feel sorry for him.
