Sainsbury is one of the most heavily shorted shares on the market. I can see your investment case, but personally I wouldnt want to bet against that.

Yes I read about various institutions shorting the share and that is worth taking into consideration. However I’ve bought Sainsbury’s as a long term buy and hold share, with decent value potential too. I don’t think it will do amazingly well over time but I do think for investors who want a solid share with a good dividend it’s worth considering.

Good article. It’s tempting to think shorters have pushed the price to its natural bottom, barring further negative news. Food for thought anyway.
