M&S is at a year-to-date high, whilst ITV is at a year-to-date low!

By Chris Bailey | Wednesday 8 November 2023

Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.

If you roll back a few years I have held shares in both Marks & Spencer (MKS) and ITV plc (ITV), but I have not in either for quite a while. From a 2023 perspective, what that has meant is that I have missed out on a near doubling of M&S shares, but I have been fortunate enough to miss out on an over 20% fall (and much more over the last five years) in ITV. As for the world into 2024, do I consider getting involved in either?
