It's the good old summertime And shares, according to Uncle Tom Winnifrith, are about to end in tears with a sudden end to the bull run. So I thought I would stage a little diversion from my usual favourite subject of shares which are going to rocket, by looking at a different kind of speculation.

I used to have a maximum holding in premium bonds ( not any more ) and used to win every month , some times multiple wins . But it was all small prizes £50 or £75
and averaged out at less than the interest savings rate at the time .I would have carried on but for the main prize being so small these days compared to the other temptations . You get your stake back tho , which is a big plus with P bonds .

Your right and Tom and your other co workers wrong about the Bull market ending .
The bull market is just beginning here . We have not even got beyond previous years highs yet . The economy is on the up . Natural resources are pulling out of a 5 year “hog” cycle . Unemployment is falling. The housing bubble is a fantasy created by Tom about a minority of the countries housing in London and University cities where occupation rates are high . Tom needs to get out more . There is no housing bubble north of Watford . The economy is set to fly here and shares will go with it right to the next level . All these people spouting gloom and despondency are getting on my wick . They have been brain washed . They dont get out enough and see whats happening on our busy high streets .
Rant over .

I agree with you Malcolm, it is certainly true that if you continue using the same numbers week after week, month after month, year after year they will indeed eventually come up. The only snag to this particular get rich scheme is will we be fortunate enough for this to happen in our own lifetime? It could take hundreds of years for our combination of numbers to come up. But hey, I’m with you on this one, it could happen & then as you say it’s drinks all around. I do use the same numbers myself each week, but the biggest win I had was £75 years ago & on that occasion I bought a lucky dip. Thanks for all the amusing articles Malcolm you remind me of an old friend I had, he was an extremely nice guy, charming, very witty & kind.

Really? You have the same chance of drawing the previous weeks numbers, or any other combination of numbers. Playing the same numbers every time gives you no better chance of winning than choosing random numbers each time.

Hello Wilders. I think we agree on a lot of stuff. The cycles are with us – it’s time for a big share boost and it will be big, as we both know. Harry. What can I say?. All you say about me is so very true. When I win the lottery, I expect all those who think it is a voluntary tax will be inviting me on holiday with them – at my expense.

Absolutely, Dougo. But only if you don’t believe in fate.
