I’d like to ask the good people at ShareProphets whether they could find it in their hearts to extend the scope of these prestigious awards to cover FTSE SmallCap companies. If this were to happen the clear winner of category 6 would surely be Mike Pocock , ex-CEO of hibu and Polaroid (think Petters and Ponzi schemes re. the latter), along with his fellow oleaginous oligarchs Bob ‘wriggly’ Wigley and Tony ‘Master’ Bates if joint nominations were to be sanctioned also.

I would like to nominate Kromek (KMK) as the worst IPO of the year. Floated last October through those idiots at Panmure Gordon, the company took just 4 months to issue its first profits warning…it won’t be its last before the year is out!!!

Not my call, of course, DE but my interpretation of the criteria is that shares need to be suspended for inclusion in this particular category. That said, I agree fully with your appraisal of KMK. Not only was there a profits warning but – as you’ll know – news of a substantial contract with the Chinese followed within a matter of days, despite there being over a month remaining before their year end. Please note that I don’t think this undermines your view, rather that it strengthens it. Maybe they were played, but they should have waited if they’d had any inkling that such a deal could be struck before it. Uni. / ivory tower spin-offs eh? At least the board are buying shares in their own company though (are you reading this EDL?
Anyway, I’ve become a site-hogger – sorry about that – and been spending far too much time in front of a PC screen. Time to get back to nature. Good luck to all who nominate (especially if the nominee is EDL!).

I would like to nominate an additional award for next years awards . The picture above of the “flying pigs” from the FCA and Aim Regulation on their ( almost constant ) rest break made me think that they should be able to have an entry .
For next year how about :- the most glaring piece of in action by a regulator and the most incompetent response by a named member of a regulatory team by email / phone ( must have evidence for this one , either copy of letter / email or voice recording )
I know many members of Hibu share holders group have some hilarious letters of response from the FCA that they would love to enter.

For category 5 (cesspit deal of the year) it has to go to UBC for accepted a reverse takeover at 2.7p per share when they were trading between 6-7p previously (prior to the suspension when the deal, then just a potential deal, was first announced).
