All the more motivation for them to engage in groundless ramping and undermines somewhat the candid integrity that would otherwise be implied by charging an honest fee for reports and analysis, I suppose.
At least Sméagol (text editor added the accent automatically – a knowledge of Middle Earth would be most impressive!) had a core of decency, but this Gollum character sounds like an out-and-out slimy so-and-so – surely SM would have had good grounds to have had his arse hauled before a tribunal.
