Jabba The Hutt is no longer on the board but he ramps shares in Octagonal (OCT) on twitter and his pal from Inspirit (INSP), John Gunn, runs the show. Piss poor interims were out yesterday but being Jabba related they contained a clear breach of AIM Rules - just what was it trying to hide?

BRITTA
Are any of these Lenigas companies not doing this mutual-support trick? It’s very much like QPE and the buying of IMTK and DAN on the open market – if QPE were truly an investor then they’d buy shares in placings instead, so as to get cash onto the IMTK/DAN accounts. Instead they buy on-market – simply to boost the SP and thus their own NAV.
The Lenigas companies seem to be doing a similar Rob Terry trick. REM buys shares in BCN (which no-one wants, at least not on TSX), BCN SP increases, REM records increased NAV. OCT buys INSP, INSP price is strengthened, OCT records stronger NAV. All mutually supportive, while it works.
However, we’ve seen what happens when a key buyer stops buying to support a stupid SP valuation – and there is no better recent example than CHA. Such high-risk leverage plays cannot go on forever, and at some point they will pop with a god-almighty bang.
DUCK AND DIVE
Uncharacteristically, Fatty has hardly mustered a Tweet in the past 24 hours. But last night he did promise to make a few surprising statements next week. Can we have a guessing competition? I’ll offer three:
“I’m retiring permanently from Twitter”
“I’m going into partnership with TW”
“On reflection, I think CUBA is a dog”
