Bearcast

Tom Winnifrith Bearcast 9 December - Condor Gold & Rose Petroleum are delusional

The pain killers are really starting to kick in and so I must warn you that this podcast contaions some bad language. Well quite a lot of bad language actually. On the agenda are the delusional fantasists who are running both Rose Petroleum (ROSE) and Condor Gold (CNR) into the ground. There is an apology on LGO Energy (LGO) but its shares, down again today, are still toast - I discuss what a strategic review means and why Bulletin Board morons are just so blinkered...they are in love you see. Then it is onto Iofina (IOF), Quoram (QRM), InternetQ (INTQ) and the dog Fitbug (FITB)

Comments

  1. YAWN.

  2. Simple Moving Avarice

Some odd stuff in INTQ’s rebuttal to be sure.

Why did they threaten Adviator Media with legal action over the web page instead of just asking them to put it right? Not much point having your customers calling a competitor is there? Seemed a bit strong for a former partner.

And why call them a “low value systems technical integration facilitator/contractor”? Certainly they were a cheap contractor because apparently they charged nothing at all (“Management confirms that the Group has never made any payments to, or received payments from, any of these companies”). To be fair it sounds like they are a bit embarrassed to have ever had dealings with Adviator at all.

I was also amused by their statement that Akazoo in Poland mainly operates as “Orange’s own brand (‘Muzyka Tu I Tam’)”. That brand seems to have just as bad a rep as Akazoo does.

  3. ceo’s know pi’s fall in love with stocks thats why they woo them at investor shows. good ceos on aim like leni don’t need financial savvy to do well, they need to know how to woo. they need to think like professional pick-up artists when speaking to a pi and conquer them

  4. Tardy apology for LGO slander in your previous cast . The deal was actually TWELVE TIMES better for LGO than you stated with regards to paying the Trinity invoice in shares . Your piece trashed the share price on the day ……… cost people money …….. buts that WINNI MATHS and thats MARKET ABUSE . A strategic review is a good thing . It does at least show management are open to all ideas to manage the low oil price regime currently in place.

    Teathers

  5. With regard to ROSE again your coverage is overly bias on the bear case ……. do try to show at least some balance .

The RNS clearly states that they were going to drill 6 wells self funded . The oil price dropped and they decided just to do one of the six well to start off with . The land management body ( BLM) refused to permit one well now and rest in a later period saying Rose must apply to permit all six at one time .
With regard to cash please note the following from the RNS :-
“As mentioned in the Interim Report, we have implemented a radical cost cutting programme across the group to preserve our cash reserves in response to sector dynamics. The extended timelines around the permitting of the Uinta and the Paradox have been frustrating, but the cost cutting has ensured that we will have sufficient cash to see us through. We believe that for Rose to be self-funding a single well in the current oil price environment at this time, even with the projected economics of the Mancos, is ill-advised. We have ongoing discussions with third parties to potentially progress the Mancos and it is clear from these discussions that a multi-permitted well program is more attractive”

    Teathers

  6. Of course ROSE PETROLEUM (lse:ROSE) is doomed. On ADVFN, it was ramped by the late ramper ‘mclellan’ aka Dr (sic) Fiona Mclellan Stewart, a deranged persioner from Uppingham in Leicestershire. She had a 100% record of total investment failure. Other shares she ramped were Petrel Resources (lse:PET), Afren (lse:AFR), Mosman (lse:MSMN), Tomco (lse:TOM), Sirius (lse:SRSP), Gulf Keystone Petroleum (lse:GKP) – you get the picture.
The funniest part is that her “lawyer” was the same Loverat who has won the original KOTM award (TW’s equivalent, Bulletin Board Moron of the Month) and been nominated for the year award.
Bottom line , ROSE is heading for nil.

  7. Tom

The chances that a very minor player in the US shale play, such as Rose Petroleum can survive the present market conditions much be very much to doubt.

The fact is fracking has become totally uneconomical for the majority of producers and will remain so until crude prices recover north of $60 a barrel, presently that seems unlikely to happen any time soon. Thus, its difficult to where a bull case for any minor oil company, especially an explorer such as Rose can be made, taking a medium term view.

If the general consensus is correct and the Saudi Arabia’s strategic plan is to preserve market share, at any cost, thus toppling the USA from being the worlds number one producer by rendering its Shale operation unviable or indeed its all part of a darker conspiracy to punish Putin’s Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin himself has raised this prospect declaring in December: “We all see the lowering of the oil price. There’s lots of talk about what’s causing it. Could it be the agreement between the US and Saudi Arabia to punish Iran and affect the economies of Russia and Venezuela? It could.”
Well, we’ve witnessed Iran falling into line and being rewarded by US inspired sanctions being rescinded and we also know that, in particular, Russia and Venezuela’s economies have been very severely hit by the falling oil price, too.

Whatever the case, low oil prices may well be here for a long time to come.
