As indicated HERE in Tom Winnifrith’s comic snipe at the unfolding Greek Tragedy that is AIM-listed (for now) Sefton Resources (SER), things are getting serious. Very serious. Shareholders, however small their holdings may be, have a decision to make and a vote to cast. Get it wrong or ignore it and it could be a total wipe-out. Here is why.

Yes, yes, yes — but not even Oil & Co are so stupid as to press on without having a nomad lined up or they would be waving farewell to their 11.29 per cent.
As for Clem’s mid-life crisis, who is misleading him into thinking he can emerge unscathed from an alliance with the convicted armed robber? And if I were an ADVFN shareholder, I would be wondering why he has so much free time on his hands. Or is the LSE deal definitely going ahead with Clem not wanted on voyage…?
Speaking of ADVFN, are Grant Thornton desperate enough to want to drink from the Sefton chalice?

I have made and lost a fortune and feel sorry for all people who lose money investing in companies. I dont now the people behind sefton and cannot coment on them but I wish sefton small shareholders the best of luck. Im sick of shareholder being ripped off. So good luck to them and hope it comes good and if in dought get out.

Sorry to hear that Dave …………. I hope you at least “wiped your face” Its a tough game and AIM is just a casino for gamblers and short term speculators only . It certainly is not an investment vehicle . Best thing that can happen to newbies is that they get really badly spanked on their first punt . An early win only brings misguided over confidence later on and then they often suffer the really big wipe out and lose the lot .
Take care out there . When I give up trading in a few years I will probably join Tom and Steves “Nifty Fifty” if they are still doing it then . Its a huge lot safer than AIM and they seem to get very good results as a team working together and cross checking each others thinking on the investments they make .

The problem I have is its becoming good practice to rip off shareholders and like finding a honest MP and rocking horse shit it’s difficult to find a real investment. I do not mind losing £10k on a company that has tried to make it work but I hate losing 1p on a dog with big fat flees. If you am like me you will never give up investing its apart of us and you should never get advice on a share unless you want someone to blame.:)

@David Russell: I recommend looking for an AIM penny share which is 70% owned by big institutions, has close to £50m in the bank and no debt, is expanding at a rate of knots and will soon turn a maiden profit. What is it the BBMs say…“this is going to fly”? For once, they would be spot on.

Lol, The funny thing is Duck and Dive I think half the china company’s on Aim started out like that and ended up knower. I do buy a lot of Aim stock but tend to stay clear from certain people and companies. I just feel sorry for the small investors who lose all their cash and that’s my point I tried to state on sefton small shareholders.:)

D&D – given that GT have not long given up on a couple of our AIM-China Filthy Forty, I would imagine that they would be happy enough to take on a new client – provided it is a good one. Er….
As for the personalities, I’m trying to keep out of that. In terms of the business decision here, it is not relevant. If the rebels come up with a better path forward, then fine. It would have to include certainty of a Nomad in the wings and some kind of business plan. Without that, the decision is a nil-brainer. .
David – we’ve all been there! I even used to take RNSs at face value (stupid boy!) but I hope I’m a bit wiser now. In general I find that the most disgustingly cynical approach gets nearest to the truth.
In this case I was more anxious to point out what choice (pro tem) is being presented. Even a few shares relegated to the bottom drawer should be voted: if you are not going to sell (perhaps because it is not worth the bother) then at least vote them. It may be a hassle for some, but the likes of TD and HL can vote your nominee execution-only shares and it is free, to my knowledge. Of course, if you want to sell and just get out (why wait until now!!) then go ahead – but if not then at least realise the danger of the current situation.Better to try and fail, etc. If nothing else it would be awful to take the road of apathy, only to watch an adverse result on the thinnest of margins.
D&D (again) – hmmm. There can’t be many 70% insti owned penny shares with £50m in the bank. RENE springs to mind, but about to turn a profit? (Declaration, I own a few of those but please don’t take that as a recommendation)
DUCK AND DIVE
@Nigel: there were a couple of clues in the question. The stock I was hinting at is FJET, in which I declare an interest. But I will take a look at RENE.
Reminds me of Mrs Merton’s question to Debbie McGhee: “Do tell — what was it about millionaire, Paul Daniels, that first attracted you?”
Nigel Somerville
D&D – yup, there were. Call it old age! I have a handful of those too. I think Mrs M included the word ‘multi’ in the Q.
RENE – be careful, it is a biotech stock (albeit with plenty of cash)
