Controversial entrepreneur Big Dave Lenigas is my pal. So too is outspoken blogger Doc Holiday. But the two men appear to loathe each other passionately. And the latest step in this battle came with a twitter threat from Big Dave “I will block on twitter anyone who follows Doc Holiday”. Oooh er missus…

Good piece.
I have been blocked by Big Dave, I didn’t agree with the blocking if you follow the Doc, and shared my opinion. I find his attitude here a little troubling and childish, from a person who is supposed to be a business leader. My way or the highway isn’t a sensible path to take, and I believe will alienate Dave from many (including shareholders in his companies) which I am one.
On a business level, do I want to continue holding substantial funds in companies that are directed by somebody who behaves, in my opinion, ‘like a child throwing his toys out of the pram’, because somebody takes an opposing view to his?
Dave should remember that he runs his companies on Aim, and regularly returns for fundraising placings to the very people he is now turning his back on. Considering the stock market performance of the majority of his companies, (significantly down), I think alienating your backers is somewhat folly.
Dave, simple blocking people who want to hear both points of view, can surely be of no benefit. I would encourage you to engage with the critics (as long as they are not abusive), it would demonstrate you are a bigger person who is willing to listen to an opposed view, and take their argument on board, even if you don’t share that view. It would also give your shareholders the confidence that you are the type of person they want to back!

Tom,
I agree with Paul, but would also add, that having read Doc’s piece about STGR which was compelling, Doc offered Dave L the opportunity to refute his claims with clarity and to directly say if he disagreed, to submit a counter argument.
We all know anyone can ramp and bullshit till the cows come home, but to graft and get your sleeves rolled up is another matter.
Dave L, to my knowledge has not countered what Doc has said with this regard, and having a hissy fit as already mentioned, well more obfuscation, don’t shoot the messenger hey Doc/Tom.

Lenigas comes across as a blustering wanker.
I’ll not be investing in any of his companies, however persuasive the patter is.
DUCK AND DIVE
Agreed. This just makes DL look petty – while trumpeting that he may have something to hide.
Didn’t he also quit Twitter in high dudgeon when he was called to order for misleading followers about the depth/value of his seismic survey? Running and hiding again.
He needs to grow a pair – and listen to a good PR adviser.
And if he has nothing to hide, he should answer Doc’s questions. Twitter is a two-way street.

Dave and his damn Twitter! Damn it, he should be building some value into REM after all the bluster. It’s a disgrace where that SP is even given the chronic naffness of AIM. Imho, he should be selling part or all of our ‘world-class lithium asset’ asap because at this rate we’re going to be pushing up daisies before anything happens with it. And given there are nearly 7 billion shares in issue at REM why do I feel value for shareholders is slipping away? He needs to stop this Twitter fixation, winding himself and others up and get on with some serious value creation!
It’s like sitting on a treasure trove with no key and no dynamite, just a Twitter page. Sort it out Dave, people haven’t got forever!
