Tullow Oil (TLW) shares about which I have long been bearish have halved today to 9.82p giving a market cap of £148 million after a court set back that could cost it $393 million. Would that sink the ship?
Usually when there is a takeover bid we see significant movement in the share price of the company being taken over, but in the case of Tullow Oil (TLW) that hasn’t happened.

Hello Share Collectors. Like all oil producing combos, Tullow Oil (TLW) will do well out of the lofty price of oil. Even if it has just reduced its production aim of 60,000-64,000 barrels of oil a day to 60,000-62,000 barrels. It’s not much of a reduction and, given the sturdy current values for the black stuff, I don’t think the share price has risen as far as it should do, when compared to its larger rivals Shell (SHEL) and BP (BP.).
Hello Share Collectors. Tullow Oil (TLW) has been a disappointing investment for me. Soon after buying, many years ago now, the share price rose by four times. But it fell regularly after that and I’m now sitting on a 60% loss. However, with the current high price of oil I may now make that up.
