Describing itself as “the UK and Ireland's leading provider of tools, specialist equipment and services”, Speedy Hire (SDY) has announced results for its year ended 31 March 2024 and that “contract wins and extensions, alongside key sector opportunities, give us confidence for FY2025”. The shares have currently responded higher towards 30p, but what about that comparing to 36p as recently as January?
Describing itself as “the UK's leading tools and equipment hire services company”, Speedy Hire (SDY) has issued a trading update commencing that, for its year ended 31st March 2024 it “has performed resiliently”, and adding that it “has secured additional annual turnover in excess of £40m across multi-year contracts” which gives confidence for growth in this year and beyond. So what of a share price, already down from 36p in January, currently more than 3% further down at 24.5p?
Having gone from “key contract wins and extensions, as well as strong pipeline, gives confidence in meeting our expectations for the coming year” in June to with “a second half weighting… anticipates full year performance to be in line with expectations” in October to “remain confident of delivering results, albeit towards the lower end of the board's expectations” in November, guess what from a “trading update” today from tools and equipment hire company Speedy Hire (SDY)?
In February a new management’s review at Speedy Hire (SDY) was noted to have identified a “deficiency” in ‘non-itemised’ hire equipment assets of more than 40% of the previously stated £49.9 million and an investigation was launched. The findings have now been announced.
Previously writing on tools and equipment hire and complementary services company Speedy Hire (SDY), in February despite the shares down to around 39p and it stating that it “continues to perform well” I concluded that the macroeconomic and asset situations still made me cautious. So what now of a “Year End Trading Update”…and the shares currently further lower at 31.35p?
Tools and equipment hire and complementary services company Speedy Hire (SDY) has issued a “Financial and trading update”including that it “continues to perform well… revenue (excluding disposals) for the four months to 31 January 2023 up c.16% against the corresponding period in the prior year… continues to be confident in delivering underlying profit in line with its expectations for the full year”. So what of a current share price response down by more than 7% to around 39p?
