Arix Bioscience: Will the Chinese save Woodford’s bacon?

In my conclusion to The Big Short series on Woodford Patient Capital Trust (WPCT), I wondered where new pools of capital could come from to keep these biotech valuations afloat now that Woodford has run out of money and I considered capital from China as a potential life-saver. Two pieces of news this week make me consider this further, one in relation to another long-term short pick of mine in the biotech fund space, namely Arix Bioscience (ARIX).

No plagiarism Seadoc. Things have moved on at pace this week so an update was very much required.I now have a position so won't comment further on the company while that is open.I choose not to comment on anything I have a position in. Call me an old puritan but I see that as market abuse, especially when not declared. I was taught market ethics when there still were some on London, and strong self-regulation would lead to a public shunning for anyone pissing in the well we all had to drink from.Then Big Bang. We all stopped looking eachother in the eye and hid behind our screens. 30 years of light touch regulation later and... here we are.

So will Remcom opine on the fact that UJO did not bother to seek evidence of Bramhill's crimes yet paid off the old crook anyway?Will it look at how the CEO said he'd pay himself 100k pa before the EGM vote, then raised it to £160 after the vote and then to £180k after that?Or for £30k pa for 2 days a month will fagash just look the other way as he joins the crony capitalist club?
