Further to my recent buy call at 1.8p here based on anticipation of Sula Iron and Gold’s (SULA) long awaited Maiden Resource Estimates for Magnetite and Direct shipping, which was released yesterday.
11 months ago, shares in Sula Iron and Gold (SULA) went on a run from 1.3p to 7.75p, an increase of nearly 500%, due to excitement about the potential iron and gold resources at its Ferensola licence in Sierra Leone. Since then, cash has been raised and drilling taking place in order to establish two JORC compliant resources.

Since the beginning of June, there has been increasing speculation concerning the upcoming Horse Hill oil exploration drill in Surrey. Share prices of the four original David Lenigas influenced companies have increased by 200-300% in this time and I expect each of them to move even higher in the next few weeks, as the excitement increases the closer we get to the commencement of drilling. On Friday, two further companies joined the Horse Hill party in the form of Alba Mineral Resources (ALBA) and Regency Mines (RGM). It is worth mentioning that Regency also has a 14.9% stake in Alba, but the question remains which of the Horse Hill horses could be the largest winner?
There were two interesting articles on Rose Petroleum (ROSE) written by Chris Oil this weekend that caught the attention of many retail investors. Chris has made some great calls recently, most notably Hurricane Oil (HUR) which has risen over 50% since his tip at 27.5p. Anyone following Chris’ advice would be reaping some healthy gains. However I think Chris has got his calls on Rose wrong. I am greatful to Tom Winnifrith for - in the interests of balance - allowing me to put the alternative point of view.
