Every fifteen cigerettes causes a new cell mutation . Mutations can turn to lung cancer . I expect the Chairman will die of lung cancer , or his wife or children will . If you sell death to people then it comes back to you like a boomerang . Its called Karma .

People can always choose not to buy death. If people choose to allow themselves to become addicted to harmful substances and lack the mental fortitude to be able to quit, there will always be those prepared to sell to them. Personally I would rather the trade provides tax revenue rather than illegal black market profits. To this end, despite not owning the shares, I would lose no sleep over buying them.

Top marks for Jimbo for the comment.
The ‘moral issue’ about British American Tobacco was dealt with on my very first article on the company.
BATS is certainly a stock to keep an eye on. Take advantage of Mr Market when he is offering it too cheaply then buy. I may well be doing so myself.
