Disclosure: I have no positions in any stocks mentioned, and no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. In October last year on animal health group Animalcare (ANCR) we noted its then just-announced half-year results included “underlying continuing basic EPS increased by 67.2% to 9.7 pence” and “five major pipeline projects all have considerable market opportunity and unmet need with potential peak sales for each project significantly larger than the group’s current largest product”, which suggested to us significant upside potential from a then 236p offer share price. The shares had since risen to close at 247p… before now a recommended cash offer.
