Breaking news and expert analysis on fast-moving AIM and LSE listed shares

A comment earlier by my colleague Gary Newman, in his excellent write up of Xcite Energy (XEL), made me think about the Falkland Islands’ explorers. I know Gary regards most of these as speculative punts. He tends to prefer stocks with proven reserves, which are producing or are on the cusp of production. However, his point about buying AIM-listed oil stocks when there is little news and interest is a very good one. Most people have followed the Falklands’ story over the last decade and most will be aware that the share prices of the various companies involved haven’t done much for two years. This could all be about to change, as we enter the final six months before the next, long-awaited drill campaign.

Good article, until you mention chris oil. The passionate reaction to his articles, that you mention, have nothing to do with his analysis, and everything to do with the fact that he is a notorious walter mitty, banned at least once from every bulletin board there is (though he always returns under different names). He even posted a fictional interview with a fund manager on this site a few weeks ago, which was obviously a fabrication. Sad stuff. I used to like this site.

@rob – I can only base an opinion on my dealings with Chris and I’ve found him a knowledgeable and amiable person to talk to in real life.
As for saying that interview of his was obviously a fabrication, come on now, be serious.

As I said, the most notorious liar on any bulletin board, and most unpleasant individual I’ve come across on any bulletin board, is being given free air time on your site. Oh, and it is blatantly obvious that he made up that interview, as he makes up everything else (castle, millionaire friends, huge wealth, Savoy etc). Just look at the language and content for God’s sake.
You claim to have a site
that stands up for small share holders, yet you’re posting messages from the most notorious walter mitty on all the bulletin boards. It undermines your whole site’s credibility, which is a shame. He is THAT notorious (how can you not know this??)
