A month ago myself, Evil Knievil, Lucian Miers and Matt Earl (the Dark Destroyer) agreed on a sort of joint top ten UK stocks to short for the summer. Since then the FTSE 100 has fallen by 8%. As you can see below our average fall is 10.51% so we are doing okay so far. Only two of the ten are up.

A good and helpful idea to review this interesting list again. With regard to one of the odd men out, PLUS500 appears to be gaining a few friends in the last couple of days. Even though it is still shorted by San Francisco investments, (whoever they are.) I have no idea where this is going but what fascinates me is the amount of dealing done by JP Morgan over the last months. Takeover rumours have been mentioned before. Who knows!

Hmmm. Nice table. Not sure I would agree taking an average of the movements. Index’s dont quite work like Tom as you know so I would be comparing it to the FTSE just yet. Dont disagree with any of them except Globo.

Craig,
Do you feel like explaining why you think Globo does not deserve to be on the list. After all it has been on a downward trend now for nearly 12 months, and in the last couple of months the shorting of it has increased. There looks to be no sign at all of TT International, and Black Rock etc changing their positions. Indeed it looks like they might increase further their shorts, if the latest activity is anyting to go on.Tom has suggested a cash call is imminent and I fancy he might be right. So how can the story change?
