Shares in Globo (GBO) are 5% ahead on the back of what appears a bullish trading update. But hang on am I missing something here?

Come on Tom. Surely a journalist of your calibre is aware of the seasonality in Globos business and industry and that 2nd half revenues because of this are always a lot higher. Perhaps a bit of research and less straw clutching is in order. Think before typing.
I await the Globo cash burn you’ve been promising…. might be waiting a while at this rate !!!
tradertrev
I’d want to see trade receivables movements gross and net of invoice discounting before I’d be interested.
Michael Wood
Fully agree with Craig. You have to compare the revenues from the same period as the second half is always much higher. Seems to me that it is impossible for these guys ever to admit that they were wrong, which is a shame when a company is doing so well.
Steve B
Craig – indeed, aside from the seasonality effect, they will also see more licence renewals in H2/2014 than H1/2014 given that the licence revenue in H2 2013 was massively higher than H1 2013 (for annual licences 85% of revenue is recognised immediately when the license is activated).
Also, the analysis seems to have missed the significance of the positive cash flow, considering that H1 is traditionally the weaker cash flow period and that some hefty US business development costs would have been incurred in the period.
Additionally, Go!Enterprise revenues in H2 2014 should see an acceleration in US sales, since the company has received a lot of enquiries, including Fortune 500 companies, following the Gartner report( the significance of which some seems to have been completely misunderstood by many – but not mobile tech industry expert Brian Madden.)
http://www.brianmadden.com/blogs/jackmadden/archive/2014/07/09/globo-is-the-up-and-coming-emm-vendor-to-watch.aspx
‘In June, Globo’s combination of MDM and MAM landed them a spot on Gartner’s 2014 Magic Quadrant for EMM (in a year when several other vendors got dropped). If you think about it, that’s like winning the lottery, especially for a less well-known vendor. As you’d expect, Paul said they got a huge increase in sales inquiries and RFPs, and other EMM vendors started paying more attention, too.’
‘At a time when there aren’t many independent EMM vendors are left, Globo is building up with an approach that’s way more than just basic MDM and MAM, and instead focused on building apps.’
Profitable too – a rare beast indeed in what is a fast growing(33% cagr) ‘sexy’ sector.
Declaration – in at an average of 15p, have taken 6 figure profits off the table, and still hold nearly 700K .

I wouldn’t expect a response from TW as he knows this article is wrong and he will never ever admit to be being wrong. As I say. Poor form from someone that calls themselves an investigative journalist.

You little tosser. I am not wrong and will reply in due course. If you wish to buy ShareProphets you can dictate what articles I do and when. Right now I am doing other more pressing things first.
Since you are not my boss you cannot dictate my timetable so STFU
Best wishes

Say what you think Tom , dont hold back now . I ve just tightened my hernia trus just incase of more side splitting rebuttles !!!
I guess he is a bit “sore” losing a six figure paper profit on the way down from the peak .
Steve B
Tom, is it really necessary to resort to foul language to disparage someone, it does little for your credibility.
As a journalist you will know that profanity is considered the last refuge of the truly ignorant.
As someone who writes for the public we are entitled to expect a different standard, especially from someone who markets himself as offering ‘expert analysis’ on the AIM and LSE markets.
Be careful of your words, for they become your thoughts. Be careful of your thoughts, for they become your actions. Be careful of your actions, for they become your character. Be careful of your character, for it becomes your destiny.” – Anonymous
Wildrides – since i’m an investor not a trader, where the share price is today, tomorrow, next week or next month is of no consequence to me – it will only be of interest to short term traders(95% of whom lose money over the longer term, according to my friend a director of a leading spread betting firm). Globo has already enabled me to take twice my original investment off the table, and i’m very confident that my remaining shareholding will be worth 7 figures by 2016. Will print this thread out and retain it, so we can return to it in 2016 to see who called this right.

I write what I frigging well want. I write for my pleasure. If folks want to read it so much the better.
As it happens it sees we gain readers every day so I must be doing something right. Bloody hell.
My credibility comes from a) getting it right more often than i get it wrong and b) having the balls to call out PLC crooks & liars in the way no other journalist does today. Not from not using language of which Mary Whitehouse would have approved.
Best wishes

Tom. I purely answered your question around the half on half analysis. I’ll stick to the facts and analysis, you stick to the bullshit and profanities. Just admit you guys have this one wrong. What sre your timelines on globo going bust then ? You keep saying it but every 6 months they prove you wrong. Grow some balls and puts some figures on it instead of hiding behind “I’ll be right in the end”.

only two times ! what are you doing wrong ? Oh yeah, not playing the down swings, I remember .
Your SB man is quite right . Thing is tho, ……its no surprise really is it …….. 95% are BB morons or virgins trading on margin . The SB firms just clean em out completely in 2-3 years and hence the constant drive for new suckers , sorry , err customers .
If only they could stick to the 5% rule ( no more than 5% of capital on one trade / investment ) but they cant , bless um . Its a sad fact .
You can still lose your shirt on “choose and hold” mind. Emotional attachment too a particular share, beyond all reason, is one way that many do .
Personally the 5% rule works for me, be it Day , Swing , Long or Long Long. ;-)
