Breaking news and expert analysis on fast-moving AIM and LSE listed shares

This morning Stratmin Global Resources (STGR) announced these “positive exploration results” at its Loharano property in Madagascar. For shareholders in Stratmin the discovery of new “unidentified graphite mineralisation adjacent to its producing deposit” is undoubtedly very good and welcome news. But I am perplexed by the share price trading yesterday.

I read a rumour on twitter late on Tuesday evening that a second sales contract was being tied up this week. I suspect that may have caused the flurry of buying yesterday?

I find this article quite strange. The volume was caused by twitterati expecting an RNS as well as the biblical 1 code. Social media as you know has a power that can create huge spikes. I think the classic examples was ROSE on placement day! a tweet! a whisper, a bloke in a pub told me is what we are all looking for. Articles on SP and your tweeting writers daily cause flurries of activitiy, in fact they cause some of the mini spikes we see on AIM on a daily basis? You can set your watch by a tip by SP, within minutes the buys come in.
I have been in STGR for months (I think first tipped by SP) it has not moved and huge expectations are on the company to deliver a better Price.
I may be over simplifying this but I would bet the FCA have a pile of SP letters. Maybe pick a better example?
Finally, are we not due an update from SP on STGR?

@anil sorry to say but that is an incredibly naive of this. Do you think the Twiiter rumours just appear out of thin air and just happen to occur at precisely the time immediately before big news?
Yes the FCA has a mounting collection of letters from us and it’s a good job too. At least someone is trying to do something about this cesspit. The market abusers have become so lazy, safe in the knowledge no one is going to do anything about this, that they are leaving paper trails left, right and centre. Perhaps this SIX times spike in volume was just a coincidence. Or perhaps it wasn’t. The FCA can easily get to the bottom of this,

Surely the time has come for investigations to be automatic whenever certain activity is observed, for instance extremely abnormally high volume, large trades immediately before a profits warning or a share placement, etc. That way the FCA could not use the excuse that an investigation could be financially deleterious to a given organisation to not discharge its duties fully. Mind you, they’re probably overworked as it is investigating the various claims by BBMs about TW!
