Controversial AIM listed blinkx (BLNX) has today issued a trading statement and an attempted rebuttal of the criticisms made by star internet guru Ben Edelman two months ago. But Edelman is not bowed and promises a full response in five days’ time in London.

Just had a skim through their response and it’s not very convincing. Ben Edelman is going to have fun with that…

We bears get up early when there is so much for breakfast.
You refute what he has to say before hearing it. You psychic or just psychotic?
As to the FCA? How many times have companies or BB Morons reported a bear to the regulator just to say they have done it. Since the FCA won;t comment on an investigation you clearly are talking out of your arse.
I look forward to Ben serving up some grief for you at the weekend

edelman is toast:-
me thinks thou protesteth too much sir.
obviously you have lost a lot of money investing in a share with a low visibility of future earnings …….. Time to take responsibility for your own actions rather than blame others ?

Edelman is Toast,
Leave Tom alone. The guy is absolutely superb at cutting through the bullshit and analysing stocks to short / that will need a placing soon etc. Journalistically he reminds me of the private eye – he wants to reveal the truth and he won’t let anyone (PR pricks, legal threats, etc) prevent him from doing so. That’s admirable.
As for Edelman – his blog was incredibly convincing whilst blinkx comeback still seems cagey and very much about whether X or Y is legal or not when it’s not all about that. They may try and dismiss the moral arguments Edelman out forward but he was right – the immorality of the business model will mean it has serious implications from a long term perspective – and blinkx weren’t able to counter that at all.
Good luck to you, EiT, because you’re going to need it

If someone is commissioned to write a report by someone with a vested interest that is not illegal. After all companies commission ludicrous buy notes from the likes of Edison every day of the week. Indeed I shall be dissecting one such classic served up up by convicted felon Champagne Charlie Gibson later.
Do I take pleasure in folks losing cash because they make duff investments? No. If I can assist them in getting out before they lose even more I take pleasure in that – and my track record on that is pretty good.
If EIT (posting anonymously, as all cowards do) knew me better he would know that abuse is just water off a duck’s back.
I do regard Blinkx as overvalued & overpromoted. It has a PR/IR arsenal ( using shareholders cash) to continue that. What is the objection of folks to hearing another point of view. Would they prefer not to be able to make rational choices knowing both sides of the argument?
as for Edelman having an obligation to “share his concerns” with Blinkx first? Why? He is a researcher & I am a writer. Our duty is to publish not to act as PR mouthpieces

Hi Tom,
I’m new to this web site.
However, before I post anything of substance I would like to know what your policy is regarding free speech.
In other words what is your criteria for allowing / removing posts on this site?
Many thanks.
