Hello Share Shakers: Sadly, we've had to put to sleep our loving cat, Tumble. Aside from missing him badly, this set-back depresses me because I do not hold with euthanasia.

My sympathies regarding your cat . As a fellow cat lover I am constantly amazed at their abilities . My own cat knocks on the door using the door knocker when it wants to come in ! The post man witnessed it one day and was flabbergasted to see our cat leap up and flip the door knocker . Their vocabulary is what gets me . Once one tunes in to what each noise means its amazing . Ours has a perfectly pronounced “no” so you deffo know when she does not want you to do something !

Ah – never trust a cat. Don’t get me wrong, you have my sympathies and I’m all for animal welfare, but they’ve always struck me as all take and little give – the Naomi Campbells of the animal world. If you mean Avacta, by the way, the Leeds Uni. spin off, I was once sort of based around the corner from them at York Science Park. Very interesting outfit indeed with huge potential and Alastair is clearly a very knowledgeable chappie, but I was stung by them not so long ago after a rather heavily discounted placing seemingly out of the blue.

You see its like this Mr Spaghetti ……… with regards to cats ………. you godda have one to know one ! Mine is 16 years old . She still hunts everyday as well . When you have em that long you get to know em like your own kids ……. but to others the cat remains aloof ……… its all part of the charm !
