George Osborne finishes off Rob Terry’s good work – Slater & Gordon is heading for zero

Last weekend I explained HERE how the purchase of the fraudulent and grossly overvalued business of Quindell (QPP) by Slater & Gordon (SGH) earlier this year threatened the Aussie poltroons with a drowning in debt wipe-out – quite simply it is not generating any cash, thanks to Quenron. This afternoon things got worse, much worse. Thanks to Chancellor George Osborne, shares in S&G are now almost certainly heading for zero. It is now the short of the century

Comments

  1. I know of a case where a car entered a small roundabout at around 8 mph and collided with the rear passenger door of a car already on the roundabout. The damage to the rear door was the main panel was pushed in and on the miscreants car suffered a slight dent in the front plastic bumper. There was no apparent personal injury on either side but two weeks later there was a claim for whiplash from an injury lawyer representing the four passengers in the car already on the roundabout of 56000 Euro which as far as I am aware was paid by the insurer despite the miscreant doing its level best to convince the insurer the claim was a complete scam. I have copies of the claims made, the lawyers fees were not included in the 56000 Euro. Personal injury lawyers are vermin , they are low life and have my greatest disrespect its really about time something was done about them, they spent years in higher education then spend their careers helping fraudulent whiplash claimants, they are worse than benefit fraudsters at least some of them have the excuse that they are thick and incapable of doing anything else but solicitors are meant to be fine upstanding people who we can all look up to. If you think that whiplash claim culture is bad in the UK take a look at Ireland its much worse with the result that everyone pays about 25% higher premiums than UK drivers. The insurance industry is also culpable, they know very well that the majority of claims are fraudulent but do bugger all and take the path of least resistance knowing they can just pass on the cost to motorists.

  2. Panic on the streets of Melbourne.
SGH shares have fallen below A$1 already.
    Carnage.

  3. Jonathan Wheeler…… added that ….whiplash claims have fallen by more than a third. I suspect the real reason for this is the fitting of head restraints (often mistakenly called ‘head rests’) to all new vehicles which reduce substantially, if not eliminate, whiplash injuries. If these are incorrectly adjusted, whiplash can still occur but this should then be the responsibility of the vehicle occupants.

  4. DUCK AND DIVE

Did QPP know this was coming? If so, they can definitely wave goodbye to the £50m escrow pot — and look forward to a massive law suit. If not, shareholders will be thanking their lucky stars.

    S&G down 51% in Sydney:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-11-26/slater-gordon-plunges-54-in-sydney-on-u-k-whiplash-proposals

  5. I got rung this morning from 0330 010 4288. A girl opened with “I am calling because we heard you had had a fall…”
I told her she had heard no such thing. “Have you had any fall recently?” They lie, and they carry on until you put the phone down on them. It really is time to put an end to this.

  6. Sent an email to S&G today, thought might come in handy

  7. Silver Herring

Had a very minor accident a while back. Other party was responsible, admitted so, but was very pleasant and addresses, phone numbers, insurance details exchanged. My car went for minor panel repair a few days later. Same day the phone rings – call from *** Solicitors -
“I understand you had a serious accident recently and suffered injuries”?
    “No injury whatsoever thanks”
“Are you quite sure about that”?
    “Positive thanks”
“Think about it for a while and I`ll phone you back”

    Sums it up really!

  8. Melbourne calling London.
    Melbourne calling London.
    Send more Neck Braces.
    Fuckin ell.

  9. Drunken Sailor

SGH to be booted out of ASX 100 from 18 Dec.

  10. Heading for ZERO!!!!!!
Your tip TEATHERS is already there ! ………..suspended today ………..worthless . It will never come back , just like MDC that other Drummond brothers debarcle and investor rape .
