Hat-tip to Alcira, straight from the organ that advised buying shares in the China Frauds, we find that the dear old Investor's Chronicle has hit on yet another winner. For on 30 September of this year - just four weeks ago - it reiterated its advice that readers buy Globo at 38.3 pence. Whoops! You can read the sage advice HERE

Is there any site or blog that tracks the success or failure of the Investor Chronicle tips?
I’d be interested in seeing some reliable data to illustrate how terrible I suspect most of the tips have turned out. I foolishly assumed that IC tips might be half decent as my broker HL proudly promotes them on its site. I fell victim to having a punt following IC tipping of Silverdell, London Mining & Asian Citrus in the past….and have long since learned my lesson never to touch any of IC’s tips again!
Maybe Shareprophets could start a league table tracking the performance of the worst offending PR loving journalists? Maybe an annual award or two?
Cheers

Go short on IC tips, you would make a fortune.

Not just Chronic INvestor. Simon Thompson was tipping them too and ignored the warnings that I and other investors posted on their forum. ST replied that it was normal for companies to raise excess cash even though there was supposedly tons of cash already on the balance sheet. He also ignored the warnings about Naibu and Camkids. He has tipped many other stinkers too in recent years. He relies on WH Ireland and Edison for his write ups. Say no more. Pretty lazy and shoddy IMHO and losing his readers’ a fortune. He loves to tip tiny companies and their SP’s immediately sky rocket within seconds of publishing and readers never get a chance to buy in at the price he tips at. He then many months later claims buyers could have made X on tip Y but buyers never could get in at at the starting price to make X. Very misleading IMHO and I complained to IC about it several times.
Time for Shareprophets to target IC?
