Disclosure: The author has a short position in one or more of the shares mentioned. I wrote this article myself, and it expresses my own opinions. I am not receiving compensation for it (other than from ShareProphets). I have no business relationship with any company whose stock is mentioned in this article.
The much anticipated short report on Globo (GBO) arrived last night - see HERE - and predictably the shares have been suspended pending the company’s rebuttal. I have written about Globo quite a lot in the past and for what it’s worth, I offer my opinion on the subject.

Informative and even handed piece for a bear ………. good stuff.

Yes Lucian your piece is fairly balanced under the circumstances.
The Globo report has been put together in an amateurish way and lets not forget the authors are short on Globo so its contents and accusations are not surprising. Auditors Grant Thornton are well respected and so I would have expected them to have found the issues if any of those issues exist.
I suspect it will take a few months for Globo convince the market they are in the clear and by that time the shorters will be long gone and have made money from the poor PIs who sell.
Phil
if even half of that report is accurate it will take more than the usual broadside from Globo to see it off. If the report is inaccurate then Gabriele Grego’s day will be done.
The rebuttal from Globo will be an interesting read, GG has left them quite a lot of wriggle room and I am expecting them use it, The report isn’t a killer blow and if you are going to issue such a document, it should be.,

“Auditors Grant Thornton are well respected…”
Doesn’t mean a thing, I’m afraid.

Oh well, I got that earlier post completely wrong. Not a killer blow, sure don’t look like that now does it lol
