Given the disgraceful profits warning, disposal that made no sense, joke of a balance sheet and all round laughable state of affairs, AIM China play Vmoto (VMT) should have lost its Nomad and been suspended ages ago. Instead it has just announced that it is to leave the AIM casino and since it maintains a listing in Australia it no needs no permission to do so. Another one bites the dust.

When a similar thing happened to one of my dual ASX / AIM listed companies (funnily enough run by Chinese), it was a major pain to get things set up so I could trade them. The company traded for about a year before it went bust – I did not get out beforehand, indeed I bought more based on statements made by the company which turned out to be misleading. The directors were all representatives of a major Chinese Nickel producer, which was the sole customer for the company’s Nickel concentrate being produced in Zambia (did not stop them paying $200k a year to a “business development manger”, whose primary role was to shag the CEO, who was on $400k, but not a board member (all Chinese)). Other shareholders and I came very close to getting a class action going against the directors (something that is much easier in Oz), but in the end the jurisdictional issues were too hard to resolve and they got away with it. In the end the major Chinese company bought our shares for a derisory sum, so I got the price of a few beers and a packet of crisps back. I will never hold onto a company that is doing this again. If I were silly enough to be a Vmoto shareholder in the first place and then silly enough to still be holding, I would have sold today.
