Hello Share Changers. I seem to remember that Uncle Tom doesn’t particularly like IQE (IQE) a firm which has, once or twice, been described as the new Arm Holdings (ARM)

And there was me thinking every phone and computer had a McCain Oven Chip in it and some had four ( quad core) Ive been barking up the wrong tree ( or just barking) and will have to sell those McCain stakes ( or was it steaks) I am sure my latest pomcuter has a crinkle cut , quad, forth bridge chip in it ( which needs repainting very 10 years)

Right-on, Wilders. And goodbye Mr Chips.

Here you go Malcolm,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epitaxy
Long story short is that Epitaxy is the process of applying a layer of a material on the surface of another material. It could involve multiple materials and multiple layers… Think Sponge Cake but somewhat more precise.
ARM provides the designs that are cut into these Sponge Cakes along with the methodology. IQE provides the Sponge Cakes. Manufacturers of ‘silicon’ chips take a Sponge Cake from IQE and use ARM’s instructions to cut their integrated circuits into the Sponge Cakes.
You need different Flavours of Sponge Cakes, both in terms of the Sponge itself and the Fillings for different applications. If you can kill two applications with one Sponge Cake and also make it more nutritional then people might become very interested in your Sponge Cake.
This is what IQE appear to be claiming however I should give the caveat that just because the customer did it using IQE Sponge Cakes does not mean they might not have achieved the same with someone else’s Sponge Cakes.
Of course Mr Winnifrith, as a result of his medical ailments, will not, or rather should not, be interested in Sponge Cakes but will take a look at the balance sheets and accounts to make his decision. I like ‘tech’ but in this case, although I would be incapable of applying it, I would be inclined to agree with Tom’s approach. The RNS from IQE,

does not really contain enough information to determine what resulted in ‘the breakthrough’ and how much that depended on using IQE Sponge Cakes. The folks at the US ARFL might have used some special Marzipan in final assembly of the Cake and/or Belgian Chocolate rather than the Crap they put on Hershey Bars.

Gosh, Mr Two Bedders! Sadly I am a simple soul and cannot think on these high levels. I envy you. While hoping that you – and Uncle Tom – are wrong.

So in the future I can live off my phone if I get lost in the desert . Just open it up and eat the sponge cake and chips . I believe Belgian Chocolate runs at a higher clock speed versus the same thickness of strawberry jam .

Sounds like a plan but according to iFixit most iPhones are a bugger to take to bits so you might starve before you reach the life sustaining Spongy Goodness. You will have to have words with Delia about a Chip Spongie otherwise, unlike Malcolm, you get the Analogy. Yes Belgian Chocolate runs at higher speeds because there are no Pips to get in the way of the McCain Micro-Wavies.
