It is hard to imagine a messier situation than the current predicament of New World Oil and Gas (NEW). Having had the opportunity to force a temporary suspension while the mess over the proposed Placing and all that it entails, New World seems to have decided not to go down that path. Instead, we have had an RNS this morning. It was a little confusing, so the ShareProphets RNS translation service is pleased to offer its interpretation.

Nigel – Do you think they will be able to work out who to offer a rights issue too and who not too ?
I highly highly doubt it and I personally believe they are playing it down… How do they know which shares are old and which are new ?… can’t see it and as a shareholder I do not want them offing Rights to non existent shareholders!
There is a reason this should be played out and the Sheriff should be behind it and thats because they always manage to worm their way out… being taught a lesson will by no means be a bad thing for the long term quality of stock, brokers and nomads on the market!!

Where, I wonder, do you get this story of the shares and warrants Beaumont Cornish are going to get through the placing? I didn’t see it in any announcement but it was in SP stories last week too (cue for much fulmination). Could someone, I wonder, have confused Cornhill with Beaumont Cornish?
TW Note: Perhaps by speaking to those involved?

This confuses the hell out of me.
Are they saying they are going to make a rights issue so the people that are holding short positions can get out of trouble ? If so, wouldn’t there have to be some deal between those who will offer the shares to shorters and the shorters at a convenient price for both parties ?
