BOOM

Rob Proctor of Audioboom: There will be no deals done below 12.5p and we have no plans to initiate any in the short term

It is Doc Holiday here. Let me declare that I have a small shareholding in Audioboom (BOOM) and I met up with its boss Rob Proctor last week to create the interview below. I rate the shares as a buy and while I know that some on ShareProphets disagree I am glad that because it is a website dedicated to free speech and a two way exchange of opinion, it is running this article.

  1. Interesting piece Doc ……………. trouble with WAZ is that he has become a self fulfilling proffacy . I do hate it when he vaguely gloats in his pieces . Winds me up something rotten . But move the market he does , and we just have to put up with it . Evil at least seems to be fallible at times which makes him not so imitated in the market , where as Waz just seems to be an absolute machine.

  2. GrindertraderUK

I think that is unfair to describe Was like that. He probably winds you up simple because he is a very skilled and screwed short seller. Waz what I have seen has called it correct inn most his dealings that he has made public.

Waz is open and honest in his reasons for shorting a certain stock. in fact his detailed reasoning goes far beyond what Doc has said above.

Doc has put on a ‘I like and trust this CEO’ type of argument. Seen time and time again in story stocks when PR drive up the share price and the market valuation has no real reflection of the company itself.

Doc mentioned nothing of the Revenue figures or profit figures. Did RP mentioned anything on how revenues can be ‘significantly’ increased or any attempt to get into profit?

I keep hearing that the company must be valued on user/subscription numbers and not on standard financial criteria. So what is being said here? Takeover?

At least the company has cash (due to previous placement) to pay personalities and continue with other cash outflow so no fund raising required for a while.

Well you never know what will happen but to me this is all gambling and not investing.

  3. That’s all very well Doc, but there’s one very important point that’s notably absent from the above, and that’s valuation.

There’s no reference to profits, cash flows, assets etc and how they might justify a valuation higher than the current market price, therefore supporting a buy case. So we are left looking at a loss making business with sales last year of £51,000 relative to a market capitalisation of £45m.

Until this point is fundamentally addressed in a convincing way then the buy case is not one for any rational investor but rather for the speculator buying simply because they believe there are short term factors which may cause the share price to rise. In other words, relying on the Greater Fool.

That’s not a strategy that will win over many Bears I would imagine.

    (No position).

  4. Every target they set they have hit, every step they said they would take they took and currently the company are satisfied they have met there required points if not exceeding them.

That’s the claim of the company! I personally see a company that’s been hammered down on profit takers or savvy short sellers.

If you see a total car crash you don’t buy, it’s market mechanics. I asked a tech guy friend on the valuation and he liked it – without a position in the markets.

I accept I’m no tech stock expert hence asked a trusted friend. The rest Is yours to find but if they do keep doing what they are then I see the modus operandi having a chance.

As for trying to convince a bear “ have you ever tried that? “ ask Tom about naibu and Evils bull case….

I prefer to reason that scaling into the stock from weakend points is a sensible outlook, always revisiting as news flow breaks

I’m moderately bullish but I’m happy for people to take their own counsel. If bears close shorts and the bad news is fish paper then I’d say some relief is natural.
