Breaking: Smears and Sinister Threats from Worthington PLC and its shareholders

The fraud Worthington (WRN) has sent me another quite deranged lawyer’s letter on which more later. But suffice to say that I have supplied it with an address on which it can serve papers as I am happy to see the bitchez in court. However….

  1. Tom,

I don’t think Doug Ware ever suggested you held a position in WRN. He alluded to the fact that one of your associates may have been short prior to suspension. Didn’t you admit that one of them was short (though apparently closed his position before suspension)?

  2. drunken sailor

    Peter,

We all associate with other people who do things that we would not do and might not agree with. To be accused of breaking the law to support such associates in those actions without a shred of proof that that is what we have done is Libel and Tom is quite right to stand up against it.

It would appear Doug Ware and WRN has more money to waste on lawyers than Jimmy “liar” Ellerton and Sefton did. But at the end of the day it is what you can prove that counts and Tom seems to have a mountain of proof on this one which would make Doug and WRN very silly to actually file. QPP made all the threats but did not actually file for the same reason.

I am sure Tom would love it if Doug did actually make the mistake of filing, he made a tidy sum from the Sefton out of court settlement and no doubt will eventually do the same with Doug and WRN. Maybe Doug will be silly enough to actually take him to court this time, ooh wouldn’t that be fun – you could sell tickets for the public galleries.

  3. Drunken Sailor

I am not sure I agree with your first paragraph.

In the statement, Doug Ware has not accused Tom Winnifrith of shorting the shares himself, OR benefitting financially from anyone that has. What he actually says is,

‘We also intend to establish to what extent, if any, Mr Winnifrith has shared in any gains that his known associates may have made in the past as a result of similar attacks on other companies.’

To me that quite clearly isn’t an accusation. It is purely stating that they are keen to look into the possibility. Nowhere does it say he has been involved at all.

What Doug Ware does say earlier is,

‘We have reason to believe that at least one of Mr Winnifrith’s known associates may well have shorted Worthington shares prior to the suspension’

Well Tom has already stated that one of his associates has had shorted prior to the suspension so this is factually correct. The fact he may have closed the position is irrelevant.

As much as I admire the work that goes on here, to suggest Doug Ware has ‘smeared’ Tom is ridiculous. I highly doubt you could beat Pinsent Mason’s lawyers with that very, very bad case!!

Best wishes and have a good weekend.

  4. These people are sadly deluded …….. dont they realise that the only people damaging their investments is the incompetent and fraudulent directors of the companies discussed and the investors own lack of judgement in selecting the investment concerned.

God gave us free will ………… we make our own decisions in this life …….. at least in the first world we do . Take responsibility for your own actions you morons . No one from the state forced you to invest in these duff companies . It was your decision to risk your capital . When you bought the shares your broker issued the statutory warnings to you stating that shares can go up as well as down . Your looking around for someone to blame……….. just look in the mirror ………. yes its you ………. you are to blame ……… you alone . No one else but you . Yes YOU, have you got it yet you spineless morons . Take responsibility for your own actions and grow some .

Keep on doing your vital work TOM . I salute you and I look forward to the day that AIM is so clean that we can all invest knowing that OUR OWN ( no one elses ) investment choices will come with less risk of accidental investment in frauds . Soon ( and it wont be long in my opinion ) frauds wont even bother with an AIM listing because they know that you will out them very promptly . Ultimately I would like to see the FCA sub contract you so that you are rewarded for your valuable role that is so badly carried out by AIM regulation .
Every AIM individual market trade should have a deduction of a 1pence levy made to enable the funding of your teams work and expand it .

  5. Peter

You give only half the quote. Let me assist you:

We have reason to believe that at least one of Mr Winnifrith’s known associates may well have shorted Worthington shares prior to the suspension. It is easy to see why the prospect of Worthington completing its transactions, and re-emerging from suspension on an altogether different scale, would be something that is potentially very worrying for anyone with a short position. We also intend to establish to what extent, if any, Mr Winnifrith has shared in any gains that his known associates may have made in the past as a result of similar attacks on other companies.

That is clear, Ware is saying an associate was short at suspension and wants the shares not to open higher when unsuspended. And that it is this that motivates my articles.

Well that is NOT TRUE at any level. That is why it is defamatory. And that is why my team – not Pinsent masons – wants an address to serve WRN & Ware at. I wonder why they have not provided it. what are they scared of?

    They can run….

    T

  6. Evil reported in his diary of 8 October 2014 that he’d gone short of WRN at 90p. He never reported on WRN again as far as I can see but might well have closed before the shares were suspended. This may be what Ware is talking about? I’m sure Evil will be able to confirm if he is still short or not to clear it up.

  7. Mr Ochs

Evil’s diary is often not up to date. I blame the publisher :)

Before defaming me Ware should have checked with EK. I did. EK was not short at suspension

WRN still not providing an address for Ware where I can serve him. I provided mine. What is he afraid of?

    t

    T

  8. Tom,

Ware’s home address is a matter of public record, available from Companies House if you want it :)
