City grandee Sir Peter Hambro is quoted in today's Daily Mail, bleating about how prvate investors in Petropavlovsk (POG) hate him and might allow his POS company to go into administration. Good. I hope they do. I view Mr Hambro and his company with contempt. He is a rich man and shareholders have lost up to 98% of their cash. But Eton educated Hambro just does not get this becuase he thinks he is better than we peasants. I also look at the crony capitalist knees up starting at Indaba. Jeepers these folk all make me so angry for how they abuse ordinary private investors.

Very true, this piece could be about many companies on AIM.

I hold no shares in this POS, sorry, POG, but since you are in a dark inebriated place, I will offer for good measure a few positives, namely:
1. They seem to have reduced their gold production cost to under $900/oz – at least while the Rouble is weak (so pray that the big Ukraine peace summit falls apart);
2. They have just reappointed their Russky CEO after his spell in government and that looks like a big positive;
3. They have some new resources to add to an updated JORC due in H1;
4. Assets are allegedly worth more than debt;
5. The price of gold might rise.
However, their big stake in iron ore producer, IRC, looks flaky and I can see the Chinese taking that business over on the cheap; Mr/Sir/Lord Hambro hasn’t bought any shares for eons – infact his last visible act was to dispose of a large chunk two years ago; the IIs, such as they were, all seem to have bailed out last year, leaving Mr/Sir/Lord Hambro now as the only >3% shareholder (and only just); and the price of gold might go down.

Plenty of plc executives didn’t go to Eton and have their snouts in the trough. No need to be chippy and ape the left wing press and Opposition front bench.

The best advice I can give is never invested in any company that the research shows that the directors do better than the small shareholders. I have lost thousands in the past and have the tee shirt but nearly lost that also. I cannot comment on the person above but I believe the way it is going a number of people will find their past catching up with them when it comes to raising capital on the markets of the this world maybe they will have more luck on Pluto. Like I said its a sad day when a good company fails because of person and the leaches behind them. I wish all shareholders large and small the best of luck you will all need it.:(
