Character Group – stronger second half ‘in line with expectations’, but what does it mean financially?…

Toys, games and giftware group Character (CCT) has issued a trading update including that it is “pleased to report that, in line with the board's predictions, the business has performed more strongly in the second half and the group expects to report full year underlying profitability in line with current market expectations”. So what of this and a share price currently 3% higher at 275p?
