Frasers Group buys some shares in AO World. Good luck with that…

A couple of months ago I observed that “I am happy to keep on avoiding AO World (AO.) as a place to buy a new computer (or a few shares)”. Funnily enough, the share price then is almost within a penny of the company’s share price today despite the formal news this morning that “AO World…announces that Frasers Group (FRAS) has acquired an 18.9% strategic stake in AO with the purchase of 109,400,000 issued shares at a price of 68p totalling an investment of £75m”. Not a bad short-term purchase, given that AO World shares are up c. 7% this morning to 74p a share…
