The begging bowl goes out – the 4th rogue bloggers for Woodlarks walk is May 29: please donate today
By Tom Winnifrith | Monday 22 March 2021
To those folks who have made out like bandits in the current bull market, I ask you to be especially generous. Woodlarks needs your help. This year’s rogue bloggers walk is planned and is on a new route. We will go the extra mile with our walking and we ask you to do the same with your donations.
This will be the fourth walk. In year one, three rogue bloggers walked the 33 miles from Horse Hill to Woodlarks to raise £26,000. In year two, 11 folks raised £55,000 walking the same route. In 2020, Covid meant that it was just one rogue blogger, that is to say me, walking 33 miles by doing 50 laps of some fields in Wales. This year it will be 34 miles from Winchester to Woodlarks on May 29 and your donations are needed more than ever
The amazing, if unfashionable, Woodlarks Charity provides unique holidays for severely handicapped young people and adults. Without the Woodlarks camp, very few of those folks would get a holiday at all. Covid has hit Woodlarks hard in many ways and to ensure its future we ask for your support.
Two of the original controversial rogue bloggers are back this year, Lucian Miers and myself. We will be joined by Jonathan Price and journalist Steve Moore, both on their second walk. And by ShareProphets reader Robert Lewis making his debut. We hope that others will join and will announce the names as they do.
We said last year that we needed to raise £48,000 to ensure Woodlarks survived another year. It is not one of those big and fashionable charities getting Government bailouts. I am afraid the message is the same this year so to guarantee its survival please donate today HERE
