Polarean Imaging – “Chest coil passes Philips compatibility testing”, but how significant for stock market investors?

Polarean Imaging (POLX) has announced that “its FDA-cleared… Chest Coil has successfully completed compatibility testing conducted by Philips and is now confirmed for use with Philips’ latest 3T MRI platforms… positions the technology for rapid clinical adoption and revenue generation”. What about this from a currently up to 0.1265p share price, though comparing to above 1.4p as recently as June?

POLX

Polarean Imaging – “strategic review” including potential AIM cancellation, but is it really all the fault of “the UK public market environment”?

Describing itself as “a commercial-stage medical technology company and global leader in functional lung imaging using hyperpolarised Xenon MRI”, Polarean Imaging (POLX) has issued an announcement commencing with that “its board of directors is undertaking a strategic review of the company’s future direction and organisational structure”. A “strategic review” though usually means that presently things are going wrong and it is currently not known how to solve them. So how much currently really is the company ‘a commercial-stage global leader’?

POLX

Polarean Imaging – “delighted to announce today's successful placing and subscription”. Er, what about the more than 70% discount?!

Previously writing on Polarean Imaging (POLX), in September with the shares down to 11.5p and it emphasising it having “successfully developed the first and only hyperpolarised MRI contrast agent to be approved in the United States”, I warned it’s the balance sheet which soon needed to be revolutionised and, considering the funding environment and a down to below £25 million market cap, it was good luck with such fundraising! Natch, avoid/sell. The shares most recently closed at 3.7p and now CEO Christopher von Jako is “delighted to announce today's successful placing and subscription of $10 million”. Er, why are the shares currently at 1.3p then, a further 65% down?!

POLX

Polarean Imaging – interims talk of ‘revolutionising’ medicine but it’s the balance sheet which soon needs to be revolutionised!

Previously writing on Polarean Imaging (POLX), a medical imaging company which emphasises it has “developed the first and only hyperpolarised MRI contrast agent to be approved in the United States”, in February with the shares falling below 40p I concluded that the valuation and financial outlook in a still-challenging funding environment meant I certainly avoided. The shares most recently closed at 14.5p, and what of they currently at 11.5p on the back of half-year results?

POLX

Polarean Imaging – has “cash, which is expected to fund the company until May 2024”… or not?!

Medical imaging technology company Polarean Imaging (POLX) has issued a “Company Update” announcement including that it “finished 2022 with approximately $16M in cash, which is expected to fund the company until May 2024” and that it is now looking “to demonstrate the establishment of commercial traction and clinical adoption beyond our existing global research base”. Sounds ok, so what of a current share price response down by more than 12% to below 40p?

Good article, Tom. As we know, paid promotion is always a bit of a red flag, and while I was aware that Medpal had paid spivs like Richard Gill and for research reports and had done a couple of interviews with Zak Mir, I wasn't fully aware of the extent of their engagement with the loathsome Mir. I also wasn't aware that Medpal was engaging Twitter rampers, who have presumably either taken undisclosed payments or potentially own the stock, as you mentioned. However, the biggest red flags to me are the history of the Drummond Brothers and the company's reluctance to provide meaningful updates on its cash position or (presumably lack of) profits. I see that Jason Drummond is happy to blather on about revenue growth in the pharmacy arm, but from what I can see, there has been no update on operational cash burn since the March annual report, where cash burn was allegedly £4 million/year. One would assume that cash burn is now significantly higher, considering the company has seemingly burned through approaching £8 million (perhaps £7.5 million net) raised through the April and July placings, hence the latest placing. I cannot say I can remember many other companies which have raised funds on 5 occasions in 10 months, almost immediately after floating.
Who is pumping Medpal AI and why?

Hey Tom Genuine question , I’ve been looking more at PBX and am more inclined to want to have a bit of a decent position here -> not large enough to warrant an individual approach to opti but I wonder if there were enough on this board who could offer some liquidity to opti for some cheaper PBX stock vs what I imagine will be a hefty discount if placed out through Reynolds Is this something that’s possible if we had enough interest ?
