Writing on Panthera Resources (PAT) last month, with the shares at 15.5p to sell, we noted our gain approaching 130% and suggested to guarantee a near 30% profit from a part-sale with we noting its upcoming ‘Statement of Claim’ against India could prove a further share price catalyst but also that with such it is often ‘better to travel than to arrive’ and the ‘arrival’ could be in a more muted gold environment. So what of now the company’s announcement titled “US$1.58 billion Claim for Damages”?
We tipped shares in Panthera Resources (PAT) at an initial 6.75p offer price in August last year, concluding that it could well be a multibagger but that we were looking to sell at 10p plus swiftly as arbitration excitement built. That excitement took longer than we had hoped, but the shares did exceed 10p in March and have risen materially further since to 18.25p.
Panthera Resources (PAT) states that it “is pleased to announce the maiden JORC compliant Mineral Resource Estimate for the K1A deposit at the Kalaka project located in Mali”. With the shares currently up from our 6.75p offer tip price in August to 8.5p, how ‘pleasing’ is the company’s latest news?
Unwittingly, I own shares in Andrew Monk’s VSA Resources (VSA) not Panthera Resources (PAT). How I wish it were the other way round. Anyhow, Monkey’s motley crew has initiated coverage on Panthera with a gutsy call. VSA opines:
Panthera Resources (PAT) describes itself as a “gold exploration and development company with assets in West Africa and India”. But the following includes why it is something other than the assets it is currently progressing on the ground which mean we consider that there is significant upside potential on the shares on a two months view and that they could even multibag from a 6.75p offer price, £13 million market cap.
