Oxford Cannabinoid, surely this is a complete porky from Clarissa and the gang?

I have noted before that the Warwick University philosophy course which produced Oxford Cannabinoid (OCTP) CEO Clarissa Sowemimo-Coker clearly did not cover basic maths. Now I am beginning to wonder if the course covered ethics, as the course at my old alma mater did, for today there is an RNS which just looks to be a bit of a porky.

OCTP

Oxford Cannabinoid completes January 30 fundraise – now it needs another one to avoid insolvency by July (or earlier)

The fragrant Warwick University philosophy student who is running Oxford Cannabinoid (OCTP) into the ground, Ms. Clarissa Sowemimo-Coker is delighted to announce that the subscription element of the £1.1 million net 0.5p per share fund raise announced on January 30 has now completed. Already the bid is, at 0.47p, below the fundraise price, always a bad sign as the new shares do not start trading until 20 February. But worse is to come.

OCTP

Oxford Cannabinoid – a death spiral AND a bailout placing to avoid technical insolvency within weeks

Of course Oxford Cannabinoid (OCTP) pretends in its release that the death spiral is an "investment". Whatever. The fact that it cannot even be honest about that tells you everything about this entity and its CEO Clarissa Sowemimo-Coker. Crazy name. Crazy gal. Before we look at the quite desperate refinancing have a butchers at the interims which also came out today.

BREAKING: 14 Questions Oxford Cannabinoid refused to answer at its EGM

Last week's EGM was a predictable farce. Imperial Brands (IMB) does not seem to care about its investment; thus, it fails to quiz the management of a company whose shares have slumped from 5p at IPO, to 1.3p in just ten months. Here are some of the questions asked, which raise very serious questions about the underlying science, the shock resignation of Oxford Cannabinoid’s (OCTP) broker and the cash crisis looming later this year. Natch, Oxford declined to answer any of them:

BREAKING: Oxford Cannabinoid – Are directors lining their pockets ahead of an MBI?

The IPO of Oxford Cannabinoid (OCTP), pumped by the tawdry Mail on Sunday on the, false, supposition that Mr Snoop Doggy Dog was an active investor, was – as I predicted an overvalued POS and those backing it have, in eight months, already lost half their money.  This week it admitted to delays in work on its two lead compounds, not that, even before, either would – if they worked – hit markets till 2027. Its founder chairman will soon step down after a share dealing scandal but is already in Thailand “finding himself”. But it gets worse.

OCTP

Oxford Cannabinoid – two more red flags for the bulging collection in just 24 hours

When Oxford Cannabinoid (OCTP) listed in May, raising £16.5 million at 5p I warned you all that its £48 million market cap was a complete rum ‘n’ coke. This company will, in a best case scenario, generate first revenues in 2027 and it will very obviously run out of cash well before then. I reckon the next cash call is within a year. Meanwhile the non-financial red flags mount at an alarming rate.

Was there not there an article from Tom suggesting that if the market tanks that gold would also follow ( albeit less so and for a shorter period ). Based on that advice, and looking at charts, surely the best advice is to be in cash, certainly in the short term, earning a good interest payment. There is a distinct possibility that interest rates are exactly where they should be ( normal levels ) and will be for a while ( if not higher ). It was an anomaly having them where they were after the gfc. The big banks / financial system are healthy now, that's the big difference. I'll be watching Berkshire Hathaway and decide what to do when they start to reduce their cash reserves in a meaningful way.

Nigel you should offer your services to American Media channels. You can appear on these channels and be completely wrong and no one ever asks you when you are interviewed on the next occasion why you were wrong. The prominent gold expert and financial author who projected gold reaching $10,000 per ounce around the end of 2026 or mid-2027 is Jim Rickards (author of Currency Wars).First it was dec 2026 now he has shifted it to mid 2027 .( We shall see )

So people warned of a hurricane / cyclone / typhoon through 5 channels are significantly LESS likely to take action than those warned through 4???Sorry, I'm calling cobblers on that. There are clear anomalies around statistical significance calling that whole chart into question.

Excellent analysis as always. We have the Budget this week and the only thing that I can see to help keep this show on the road is a massive cut in Stamp Duty to kick start and propel the housing market forwards. Prices shouldn’t go any higher because interest rates are relatively high but greater transaction increases would mean lots more work and money sloshing about. Estate Agents, removers, cleaners, home DIY projects, extensions, carpets, garden designers - the list of winners goes on and on - and all because of transaction growth. I know it’s tricky but scraping Employees NIC and adding it to income tax would bring in loads of money!

Where miners have a mine where the share price is trading at a huge discount to npv at current gold prices and are fully funded to build the mine , today there is a huge opportunity to buy in.However nobody knows where the Gold price is going.Jordan correctly told his subscriber's in january 2026 that the gold price would pull back. However he never makes predictions about the future unlike many commentators. He merely projects “potential “ outcomes.

Across SIPPs and ISAs I hold Kefi and Amaroq and AU and BRWM. The only stock showing a loss at present is KEFI.As gold drops below $4000 is the next stop $3000?As markets possibly tank does that see goldminers at 50% off?AMRQ at 50p? AU at $40 or $25? BRWM at 420p? and KEFI 0.1p the discount as not yet a producer? If I panic now am I already to late or am I thankfully early? With my only income dividends, there is little cash to buy new stocks or battered stocks. Is there an ETF to buy for a crash?Keeping all dividends as cash for the moment. A few more dividends due on Friday.Thankfully I have a good stack of beans and a fair supply of wood for the fire.
