Niche Company with a Bulging Order Book Seems Set to Storm Back

Hello Share Swatters. A year ago I commended a niche play called LPA Group (LPA) to your attention. The share price then was 97p. Afterwards, the shares rose about 10% but then began a slow decline, drooping to bottom around 80p about 9 months later. Now the share is above 110p, rising on the back of the company's latest results...

LPA

LPA Group – profit warning & contract wins; all becoming known to the company at the same time?!

Previously writing on LED lighting and electro-mechanical systems group LPA (LPA), in March I concluded, with the shares at 114.5p, ahead of detail of just how much the first half has been ‘affected’, I’d suggest at best on the watchlist. I currently continue to avoid. Now an intra-day (3:43pm) update (uh oh), but it a “Trading Update & Contract Wins”. Hmmm…

LPA

LPA Group – “work load for the second half and the medium term potentially very pleasing”, but…

LED lighting and electro-mechanical systems group LPA (LPA) is a former tip, though one which was sold on the N50 website at 107p last summer as it noted “successive changes in Government procurement policy have impacted domestic supply chains for both new and refurbished trains and there is increased competition in our Asian markets”. The shares would later fall below 100p and closed yesterday at 103.5p before today an “AGM Trading Update”…

LPA

LPA Group - a buy

In January LPA Group (LPA) announced record results and in March updated that this year also “should present us with an excellent result”. However, despite already being on a modest rating, the shares are down from 178.5p in February to a current 155p offer price and so…

Tom, have you been to Israel? It's obviously not necessary to have visited to have a view about Israel. I'm just curious about the back story of your support. I declare an interest, my partner is Jewish and I have been there many times and also have done business there. My partner's family hold very conflicting views about Bibi.

Suggest not taking this too seriously. Tom clearly has history with these 'ladies' and there may be other correspondence we have not seen. I smell a hoax!

Who knows where the gold price will be if and when Kefi start to produce gold. My concern is that if you go back through the RNS over the past years things never seem to work out as forecast. If each stage of the relaunch has to be completed before the next can start, which was my reading, progress will make snails look fast.I would like to see documented proof of the loan terms and drawdown conditions. If I recall correctly Tom did write to Harry about this with no reply. Afraid that I did have dealings with African banks on behalf of clients in the past and my rule was that if you shake hands on a deal count your fingers afterwards. The £5.7m bank fee in the interim cash flow still concerns me, what was this for. Western banks add fees on drawdown, advance fees make me nervous. I would not buy until the main contractors are back on site and the loan monies are in the bank even if this means paying more.

The bear case at Kefi is a lot stronger than many want to admit, especially as the bull case is essentially that this time Charlie Brown finally gets to kick the football. But since the gold price is irrelevant to the bear case, speculating that gold might go to $1150 is incredibly silly. Particularly when at the time of writing gold is back above $4000 again.
