Lighthouse Group – recommended cash offer, “an attractive premium”?

Chairman of financial advisory group Lighthouse (LGT), Richard Last, emphasises a recommended offer from Quilter plc (QLT) “provides Lighthouse shareholders with the opportunity to realise their investment in full and in cash at an attractive premium to the levels at which the share price has traded in recent months”…

LGT

Lighthouse Group – half-year trading update, is ‘in line with expectations’ sufficient for the valuation?

Last year I concluded that shares in financial advisory group, Lighthouse (LGT) could prove good value at 11.75p and that the valuation continued to look undemanding at circa 14p. I updated earlier this year at 24p, suggesting that the valuation fair enough at this juncture – though now write again with the shares currently further higher, above 37p, on the back of a trading update…

LGT

Lighthouse Group – “pleased” with results & “well positioned”… but what of the valuation?

Having last year concluded that shares in financial advisory group Lighthouse (LGT) could prove good value at 11.75p and that the valuation continued to look undemanding at circa 14p, I now update with them at 24p following what Chairman Richard Last emphasises as “an excellent set of results, driven entirely by organic growth and a particularly pleasing performance in the affinity business” and that “Lighthouse remain well positioned to deliver further growth”…

Lighthouse gets a bid - goody goody lets bank gains

Lighthouse Group (LGT) on Friday noted an offer approach announcement from fellow AIM-listed financial services group AFH Financial and responded that it “believes that the indicative offer from AFH fundamentally undervalues the group and its prospects, especially in the context of the group's net cash position of £7.9 million as at 31 December 2015”.

Buy Lighthouse at a 9.5p offer

Investment Case: Shares in UK financial adviser Lighthouse Group plc (LGT) are only now returning to levels of 2011 with its industry having faced a period of unprecedented change in recent years from the likes of the Retail Distribution Review. However, resulting challenges look to now be giving way to opportunities – and though the share price has already risen strongly this year, to a current 9.5p offer, there looks decent growth and income upside still to come.

Lighthouse Group – Long Term Value play?

I noticed this morning that AIM Listed Lighthouse Group (LGT) had put out a rather dull announcement. As such it was on my radar and as I sat down on the train from Bristol to London who should wander in but ex Lighthouse boss Allan Rosengren. I learned that Rosengren is Swedish not Norwegian as I had assumed and that he had bought a few more shares in Lighthouse taking his holding to 15%. So should we all follow him?

"The big banks / financial system are healthy now"With $40T from the Fed balance sheet and similarly frightening amounts elsewhere in the Western economies all dependent on "the confidence of strangers" I'd say that is quite the assumption. With talk of a potential bail out for France, the ECB is damned if it does, or doesn't. A big domino to topple.

Was there not there an article from Tom suggesting that if the market tanks that gold would also follow ( albeit less so and for a shorter period ). Based on that advice, and looking at charts, surely the best advice is to be in cash, certainly in the short term, earning a good interest payment. There is a distinct possibility that interest rates are exactly where they should be ( normal levels ) and will be for a while ( if not higher ). It was an anomaly having them where they were after the gfc. The big banks / financial system are healthy now, that's the big difference. I'll be watching Berkshire Hathaway and decide what to do when they start to reduce their cash reserves in a meaningful way.

Nigel you should offer your services to American Media channels. You can appear on these channels and be completely wrong and no one ever asks you when you are interviewed on the next occasion why you were wrong. The prominent gold expert and financial author who projected gold reaching $10,000 per ounce around the end of 2026 or mid-2027 is Jim Rickards (author of Currency Wars).First it was dec 2026 now he has shifted it to mid 2027 .( We shall see )

So people warned of a hurricane / cyclone / typhoon through 5 channels are significantly LESS likely to take action than those warned through 4???Sorry, I'm calling cobblers on that. There are clear anomalies around statistical significance calling that whole chart into question.

Excellent analysis as always. We have the Budget this week and the only thing that I can see to help keep this show on the road is a massive cut in Stamp Duty to kick start and propel the housing market forwards. Prices shouldn’t go any higher because interest rates are relatively high but greater transaction increases would mean lots more work and money sloshing about. Estate Agents, removers, cleaners, home DIY projects, extensions, carpets, garden designers - the list of winners goes on and on - and all because of transaction growth. I know it’s tricky but scraping Employees NIC and adding it to income tax would bring in loads of money!

Where miners have a mine where the share price is trading at a huge discount to npv at current gold prices and are fully funded to build the mine , today there is a huge opportunity to buy in.However nobody knows where the Gold price is going.Jordan correctly told his subscriber's in january 2026 that the gold price would pull back. However he never makes predictions about the future unlike many commentators. He merely projects “potential “ outcomes.
