BREAKING: Chamberlin – shares suspended with winding up petition court hearing already held… and only announced now?!

Previously writing on castings and machining company Chamberlin (CMH) early this year I suggested balance sheet strain. At 11:45am today a shares “Suspension” announcement just stating “pending clarification of the company's financial position” before the company only got an update with some detail out at 12:36pm. This included that it “has been issued with a winding up petition by the company's main power supplier and a court hearing was held this morning”. Hmmm, when was this first known about then?!

Chamberlin – “has continued to perform well”… so why the significantly discounted equity raise then?!

Previously on castings and engineering company Chamberlin (CMH), in January last year I wrote ‘last month with the shares up to 3.95p I noted “Corporate Update”, attempted ramptastic?… And now a “pleased to announce” equity raise – quelle surprise!’. This December there was again from the company a “Corporate Update” helping the shares back up towards 3p and now, guess what…

Castings and engineering company Chamberlin (CMH) has issued a “Corporate Update” including emphasising “Russell Ductile Castings returns best ever monthly performance, exceeding £1 million monthly revenue for the first time, in November 2022. Investment in new plant and equipment at RDC now complete” and “Group defined benefit pension scheme now in a surplus position”. Sounds good, so what of a currently up to 3.95p share price?

Less than a month ago a “Trading Update” from castings and engineering company Chamberlin (CMH) included that ongoing orders from its machine shop's largest contract are likely to be a fraction of the original contract, though paid-for researcher Hardman still considered “the shares offer the opportunity to invest in a highly cyclical stock”! Today a further “Trading Update”, so alarm bells ringing... and intra-day (11:55am). Uh Oh...
